Still haven't heard anything concrete about why a Tyson win is better. I keep hearing about Tyson's image before the Holyfield fight and how big an underdog Holy was... none of which matter because we now know that was a bunch of bs. Considering Holyfield age and experience of the Qawi... these victories aren't even all that close really.

The thing here is that you might not get that this question is about the better performance, no odds, or no question about the worth of picking up a belt at that time.

Champs of that time frame were: Seldon, McCall, Bentt, Hide, Bruno, Moorer and George Foreman. The belts changed a lot anyway. Seldon did not take a good punch, as did the heavy unmobile Bruno.

Tyson at this time was a one trick pony: Beeing heavy handed, and having a good chin. Thats the things he could, punch with two hands.
Holyfield until that proofed tons of times that he had a very solid chin and was tough as nails. The Tyson fight didn´t bring any knew aspects of what Holyfield could do anyway before Tyson. So he did. The odds were just hyped as **** + keeping Holyfields health into aspect, even if the fight was one year after Bowe. In fact, Holyfield fought for another FOURTEEN Years, going TWENTY FOUR rounds with a prime Lennow Lewis, nearly beating him in the second outcome. They were horribly wrong about Holyfields 1 - 22 !

I just watched the second Qawi fight again: Holyfield went just through him in any ways he wanted, no matter if outside, inside or brawling. You can count on two hands when Qawi put a hand on the head of the endless hopping, rolling punches Holyfield. Like a four rounds slower version of Berbick - Tyson.
How many rounds exaclty did George Foreman need to put an older Qawi away? Yep, it was 7 rounds for a 39 years old Foreman, three more than Holyfield needed weighing 50 less than George! Holyfield was a force that night!
The Tyson - Holyfield fights did show some success for Tyson. Holyfield wasn´t totally dominant, until Tyson just gassed. I did see none from Qawi could do there, nilch. Holyfield went totally through him.

His first Tyson victory was one of the most exciting boxing upsets I have ever seen. People worried for his life going into the fight, seriously.

again, more comments about the perceptions of Holyfield and Tyson going in to the fight... which have now been revised with what we now know... I fail to see how perception of fighters beforehand makes for a compelling case on it being a better win... The circumstances of the Qawi fight seem considerably more impressive than Holyfield's circumstances against Tyson.

Qawi p4p was better than the Tyson that fought Holy but Holy said he learned how to beat Tyson during his rematch with Bowe, he was far harder to hit in their rematch than he was in their first match and he showed this quality more vs Tyson than he did v Qawi.

His head movement is far better than Tyson`s was in the 90`s and he`s punching while moving his head, Tyson often just stood in front of Holy doing nothing. I feel most cruiser weight champs would have beaten Cooper!

Tyson was no longer a monster in the 90`s and Douglas in shape would of easily beaten Tyson again in `96, he was awful and Holy exposed him.

after watching Holyfield struggle to stop former 5'8 middleweight Bobby Cyz I really questioned Evanders chances against Tyson but when Evander walked into the ring with Phil.4:13 on his shorts I knew he was prepared & ready for battle = David vs Goliath = Great Great victory
