Either Pavlik or Pascal as he was pretty much written off there and pulled out ATG performances. Trinidad was something magical but that was partly because noone knew just how good Hopkins was exactly. Don't think ill forget that stare he gave the press row after the Pavlik fight, also the whole back story with the kid dying from cancer supporting him.
Not Trinidad... much too big for that fight. Pavlik... yes, and no.... Pavlik was always perfect for Hopkins. But still at his age etc a good job. For me its probably the Pascal fight.
Trinidad was more impressive, to me, at the time. I picked him over Pavlik and Pascal. My absolute favorite was the picture-perfect "how to beat a southpaw" performance against Tarver.
Good shoutout tbh, i think Hopkins was a fairly big underdog there as well. He just completely dismanteld him and made it look easy. Quite the legendary career.
The Pavlik fight was very impressive. He was very good on that night. I watch the fight sometimes its a very impressive display of boxing. Its Hopkins best fight to watch imo.
The ASS-whooping and complete schooling he gave to the alcoholic was so delicioso to see. love He simply exposed Pavlik, ate his soul and sent him into the deep obscurities of alcoholism. Good job Bernard. :good You ****ing ruined the limited and overrated mother****er.
He str8 up ended Pavliks career..then after the fight went over and soned him in his corner...amazing
trinidad and pavlik were the fights that most impressed me. though i was impressed that he beat pascal at the age he was. those hopkins nights are finished now. not even he can go on forever.
Each was special in their own way...though Trinidad is a win of higher quality and Pascal had him face more adversity in terms of his age, he thoroughly dissected Pavlik from start to finish without dropping a single round. It was masterful. I might go with that fight. Another classic!
without a doubt, a near prime antonio tarver. moving up from 160 to 175 after two hard fights with jt.
