Tunney, Louis, Ali, Patterson, Tyson, Jones Jr, Holmes, Douglas, Tubbs, Dokes, Haye, Hide, Schmelling, Holyfield, Charles, Walcott and maybe Lennox, Tucker, Moorer and Wlad. Looking fast against Firpo and Willard doesn't make you that fast, he did have a decent combo of fast feet and hands though, if we're talking sheer handspeed though he isn't that quick

Tubbs had quite underrated and speed I'd agree there. Tucker, Dokes, Lewis, Walcott, Schmelling, Wlad and Douglas I'd disagree with.

Watch how quick Dokes is here, 1 of the fastest ever HWs, probably top4 for raw hand speed, allot faster than Dempsey

In terms of 1 punch speed all probably quicker than Dempsey bar maybe Lenny/Wlad (because of their size) and Moorer. And all have faster jabs (Dempsey doesn't have 1) and straight rights. I don't see anything on film from Dempsey that makes me think he's that quick and his punches are wide which makes them slower and easy to see coming. His left hook is reasonably quick but not outstanding speed wise. The film is also sometimes sped up to maintain fluidity, as you can tell from the referee walking so fast

This fight is the closest you will get to a heavyweight version of Ray Leonard-Davey Boy Green.

Big Dokes fan here. Awesome talent, definitely faster with his hands than Dempsey but he was faster than just about everybody.

Anyway I'd say Ali, Patterson, Tyson among elite heavyweights.

A guy who comes to mind is a young greg page. He had an excellent combination of speed and power.

I think holyfield without having to bulk up for the heavies of his day fighting at 195 to 205 is a handful for any heavy in history including Ali. Imagine Holyfield Frazier at 200!

Dokes has impressive speed but he's not what i'd call a hw champion.

Others have been named, but the comparitively unheralded Floyd Patterson truly stands out.

He exemplifies the title of heavyweight champion.
