What do you mean by worse? Haye vs Valuev was more competitive, so even though it was boring because almost no punches were landing and one guy was running and the other chasing him, at the end you didnt know who the judges were going to give it to. In this fight from the 5th round on you could only speculate if this is going to end in a KO or a UD. There was more action, more punches landing but no drama.

I can't forget either fight quickly enough...

Johnson was more aggressive towards Wladimir after the fight than during a full 12 rounds with Vitali.

Vitali threw punches while Johnson ran, held, put his head almost down on the canvas, etc. Johnson should be ashamed, but I think he bet on himself to go the distance to make money. Vitali looked good, he was not slow, he was quick. He had to problem going 12 rounds. The Euro haters see what they want to see, at least Johnson threw more punches than Haye, which is saying nothing. I watched the fight live, had it 120-108 easily.

    Actually , the hw division has always been "****". Whether we're talking about the 90's , 80's , 70's , 60's...etc...etc...

In the 80's (mostly Tyson's era)...the guy was confronted to monumental american bums or past prime "names" ...

In the 70's ..What made it exceptional was Ali's charisma more than anything. + his style was extremely different from everyone else but here again , the competition was not only overrated (like all other eras) & mostly american. Just check his record for proof. 90% US opposition. At least today's boxing scene is more diversified and international.

Back then was more or less a mixture of white american cans + black american B level fighters , and (once again) past prime legends...

The 90's...here again , more of the same. Overrated and one dimensional champ. ( Riddick Bowe , who was embarrased twice by the overrated mental midget Andrew Golota )...

But it's easier to talk **** about today's era because the hw division isn't dominated by the US anymore. and yet , a few decades back , you'd see the same cans or overrated , overhyped champs , or b level fighters...etc..etc..

Elites of the sport are quite rare...Holyfield is one..So was Ali & Foreman...Lennox & Vitali... But all have the same thing in common...they had their ups and downs...

(lennox getting ridiculed by rahman , Ali almost getting koed by the 188 lbs Henry cooper...Tyson owned by Buster Douglas , Wlad by Sanders etc..)

Great argument as per usual dip**** :good

Haye barely took a punch all 12 rounds and had a broken hand to boot and won the title in Valuevs backyard.

Sounds pretty perfect to me :think

Valuev put on a fight, came up short.

Kevin Johnson DID NOT PUT ON A FIGHT.

Both fights were rather mediocre, however, Valuev was in winning mode not survivor mode, just got outclassed. But you can't do **** if your opponent is defensively sound AND **** scared. Based on that argument, the Haye fight was better.

However, Vitali won 12 rounds to zero, something Haye can't say.

Vitali-Johnson was a shitty fight. Valuev-Haye was the shittiest fight of the year.
