Seems like the only thing we don't have in common is Marciano.
But hey, it's never too late to convert! :) :p

I 've said many times he was an excellent champion, who ducked nobody, and, by all accounts a very fine man.
He just wasn't Thor and Odin rolled into one. I'm not really attacking him, just some of his over the top fans.
But we all have our favourites!

I feel you, and hearing your perspective gives your stance more clarity in my eyes.
I honestly think that some people here have an opposite effect to what you describe.
They are so against the idea of Marciano being a mythical whatever, that they go over the top in chastising his legitimate abilities.

The truth is probably somewhere in between.

Langford was the most complete heavyweight who ever drew breath.

He literally didn't have any apparent flaws, apart from his 5' 6'' stature.

I suppose I would have to favour Louis if they fought, but I can see a few ways for Langford to win!

I have to be honest, that is a pretty big flaw. What was his reach like?

74'', same as Jack Johnson and Jersey Joe Walcott!

Imagine if you could have made him 6', just by stretching him!

His chest and reach remain the same, as do his power and chin.

He would have been almost unbeatable!
