Louis struggled against guys with good footwork, like Conn and Walcott.

Like every fighter before and after him Louis struggled with the ultimate heavyweight Father Time.

Is there a particular Wlad fight that you think shows his best mobility and footwork?

I'm not making up the comparison between Louis and Mayweather and Loma.
Compubox did a study on Louis, finding that he was the only person close to Mayweather in terms of accuracy.
Loma recently joined the two of them in accuracy stats. However, Loma has a long career ahead of him, and needs to remain consistent to retire at the same level.

Wlad would not easily move Louis around the ring. It may be tempting to have that image in your mind, but Louis was very strong.
Whatever you think about Carnera as a boxer, you cannot deny his freakish strength. It doesn't take a genius to have your way in the clinch, and Carnera never rag dolled Louis in the clinch. Willard was very very strong. He couldn't rag doll Dempsey in the clinch either.

Can Wlad dominate against his best opposition like Louis did?
It seems like when it comes to decent opponents, Wlad needs to accumulate damage over time.
He's not as good of a puncher as Louis who could KO ATGs in 4 rounds or less.

It's easy to take away from Louis by looking at some fights towards the end of his career.
Wlad almost lost in round 1 against Sanders. Round 1. Round 5 against Brewster.

Wlad is great, but Louis is next level.

    Watch Klitschko vs. Sanders.
Which one looks mobile, and which one looks like the plodder?

Now watch Louis vs. M. Baer
Louis boxes circles around Baer. Smooth, accurate with finesse.
Not too dissimilar to how Sanders used his mobility against Wlad.
Louis just would've done it way better.

The notion that Wlad has a mobility advantage over Louis is downright silly.

Never forget, Louis hit a SHW so hard he did a 360 degree turn before hitting the canvas.

Boxing circles around Baer isn't some big accomplishment.

You're mistaken. Wlad has the mobility advantage here.

Yeah, Louis looked great vs a statue like Bear who didn't jab and didn't want to be in the ring.

Sanders and Brewster hit hard. I'm not sure if they landed the same, Louis would not be stopped too. The best punchers that landed hard on Louis beat him in Schmeling and Marciano.

Sanders is very unlike Louis. A big mobile southpaw. You can't compare the two.

Now watch Louis against a southpaw.

    Oh wait.

It only took 1 spar with a southpaw for Louis to draw the handedness line.
He was looking for an opponent for the bum of the month club, considered current LHW champ Bettina. Stopped considering southpaws after sparring one.

Baer landed a nasty combo on Louis flush on his face. You know how Louis reacted?

    Then you are blind.
He not only had to step back, but he also had to slip, and it barely misses him.
It was aimed perfectly for where Louis was standing.

Imagine if Wlad landed on Louis. He'd be out cold.
