Gerry C ooney has got to be up there. He didn't fight enough and his prime was dreadfully short but he was a wicked body puncher.
Well I wonder where he's at I wonder if he is researching some records and fights to build a faux resume or......he is changing screen names
Nothing more frustrating than dealing with an ignorant MOFO that does not understand that he is ignorant. Unclistoris is a prime example.
Well, uh, we are speaking of heavyweights here, so throw Chavez out of the equation. The little guys are much more supple at their trade than the big guys.
Frazier was the best heavyweight body puncher I ever saw, and I am 57 years old to put that in perspective. He was the epitome of an inside fighter. Apparently Maricano was a good body puncher, put i have not personally seen enough film of him to verify. Same with Dempsey and all the real "old timers" Kooney was a good body puncher. Quarry was an excellent body puncher. Morrison was a good body puncher. Never noticed Ruddock being a good body puncher. Never thought Tyson was a good body puncher, as Tyson wasn't really a good in fighter. Frazier, by far, was the best heavyweight body puncher for me. Also possibly the most underrated heavyweight champion ever. One guy, Foreman, had his number, and only Foreman.
Foremans round house right to the kidney also seemed so brutal. He could hit the chest or overhand around to the back. Just brutal stuff.
Joe Frazier was the best heavyweight bodypuncher I`ve by a good margin. Not necessarily the hardest punch for punch but his shots were solid. The most impressive thing about the way Joe worked the body was his consistency. He invested in the body attack and didn`t give up on it throughout the fight. Joe also had precision and was able to double his hooks mixing them head/body body/head.
