Broken ribs are a discomfort, a broken nose can affect over time. Like tommy said, a good liver shot and you are completely ****ed.

Yeah. It completely depends on HOW the nose is broken. Irsael Vasquez fought on for a few rounds with a broken nose in the first fight with Marquez, but he couldn't breath among other things as the fight went on, so he had to "quit". Short term the worst is the liver shot, though. Fighters like Oleg Maskev have fought on with broken ribs to win fights.
