People that fight through cuts get described as digging deep and grinding out a win.

People that get rocked and take a hard shot get described as "being exposed as having a glass jaw" or having no cheen.. Even if they come back to win, they are ripped on for taking a hard shot and not being able to simply shake it off.

What I can't figure it, is how are the displays of heart any different? Don't you show the heart of a warrior, of a fighter if you're capable of fighting with blood in your eye or coming back from almost being knocked out?

    Discuss.

Vitali/Lewis. If Vitali didn't have heart WTF is? Yes, I know before assholes bring it up, yes he lost. He showed heart in that ring though. What would the outcome be if that cut never happened? We will never know!

Cut Eyes, and being wobbled are a common occupational hazards that the fighter and his corner/cutsman should be prepared for, Fighters who cut often, perhaps because of prominent bone structure, may be so used to the experiance that it may not brave of them to continue, they may have an "oh Hum...he we go again..." mentality to it, and adjust their tactics accordingly, i suppose it goes with being professional

Guys who fight on when they have suffered a Broken Jaw, Busted Hand, Arms coming out of sockets etc etc are Crazy Brave, recently we saw Yuri Foreman bravely trying to carry on with against Miguel Cotto with that Knee Injury,

Sometimes they do make appointments with their minds that their bodies shouldnt really e asked to keep - they are remarkable sportsmen (Buinessmen !)

the cut, all fighters get hit hard at some point but seeing your blood can be unsettling.

    Cotto-Clottey
    Vitali-Lewis
    RJJ-Calzaghe

these are all fights where the fighters showed great courage when they could have easily taken the easy way out, especially cotto. the "both" option defeats the purpose of the poll IMO.

Even Cotto managing to stay in for so long against Margarito despite his skull being battered with bricks showed heart

I can see your point but I'm basically trying to understand how getting cracked with a huge shot and managing to fight through it, survive, and win leaves you with people saying you were exposed for being without cheen. I think it's on the same level as not letting a bad cut dishearten you and getting the **** through it

As much as I hate to say this, Juan Diaz seemed to always mess up after a cut v_v
