Aj is the easier fight for Fury Both cant box and Fury beats both on the same night but we have to look at the facts Ngannou is extremely unorthodox, has a steel chin and hits like the Tsar Bomba. aj is robotic, telegraphs his shots, has no gas tank, no chin, and lacks mental strength. He doesn't have alot going on up there and anyone with an IQ of over 73 can predict his next move. He might even quit on his stool once Fury puts it on him
Francis is the easier one IMO by far. Let's be real, we're talking about AJ - a two time HW champion with a good and decent resume at world level: win or lose - experience is experience. Compared to Ngannou, who I'm aware did have some boxing experience before jumping into MMA. But let's be clear, he's not got experience in boxing at anywhere near world level.
It's a legit question at this point. Ngannou looks like he can take more damage at this stage and fights wild so might be hard to train for. We need to see him defend himself and land against a top boxer before we can really know what might happen. But what makes him dangerous, I think, is that Fury wouldn't take him as seriously and could get caught playing around with him. Because Fury doesn't have huge power, if Ngannou can take some shots he might land a few back and does seem to have power. Wilder probably has a better chance of just bombing Ngannou out quick because he has both the range and the ko power. At the same time, Ngannou likes to bum rush and maybe Wilder misses and gets caught. All we know is that Joshua doesn't want to fight Fury or Wilder but Ngannou probably does.
AJ is the harder fight because for a heavyweight he throws quick, clean combinations up close, can generate good power from different angles, could trouble Fury's clinch game with his uppercut, and I don't see Fury putting on a boxing masterclass like he did against Klit 8 years ago. I would still pick Fury due to his engine, quirky rhythm, ranginess, dark arts, boxing IQ and overall versatility, but Fury has to come in at his best to beat AJ, whether you accept it or not. In fact AJ has a better chance against Fury than Wilder imo Ngannou is closer to Thor than he is AJ. He's strong but his strength only partially goes into boxing. Look at how heavy and hurtful Thor's jabs were on Hall, but at the same time I doubt ANY of his shots hit the same as a proper AJ or Wilder punch. Ngannou vs Rozenstruik was wild swinging that even Wilder wouldn't do. He KOd Stipe because Stipe decided to trade with him after getting his takedowns stuffed or even reversed - go and watch the fight. Ngannou's power isn't a joke, as he's clearly a naturally well-built man who developed strength at a young age labouring in Africa, but a big chunk of this Ngannou ''touch of death'' bollocks was Dana White's own hype prior to Stipe-Ngannou1 I LOVE the AJ underestimation going on. Losing to Usyk means you're a bum, apparently, and I'm going to make A LOT of money on AJ sometime soon. Dog bless
What happened to a big hitter with a "granite" chin kickboxer in boxing against a no name opponent. This content is protected
This is most assuredly not a realistic question. I'm deadass too. If anyone considers themselves an actual boxing fan and believes an MMA professional is a more difficult fight than a still elite (for this era) 2 time unified champion.............I would encourage you to leave this forum permanently
Francis hits like a truck in MMA gloves. Do we have any info on his punching with boxing gloves on? Connor McG could punch in MMA but he's technique left a lot to be desired when he fought Floyd and after about 6 minutes a big shot never looked likely. I'd expect Fury to do the same to Francis. The unthordox windmilling style might work in Francis favour but there is another windmiller with massive power than Fury has beaten up a few times. Joshua at least has solid fundamentals and good power of his
