Then we are agreed. Kelly Pavlik was in absolutely fine condition to fight at 170lbs. That's all I was seeking to prove. :good

You think JOE CALZAGHE would have STOPPED GLEN JOHNSON.

 I think I'll just stop talking to you now. No offence.

B-Hop's greatness is undeniable, but it shouldn't be overhyped or understated. The fact is, he cleaned out MW in his prime, he fought and won the above fights (several in which he was the underdog and past his physical prime, or coming off key losses), he hasn't been DECISIVELY beaten since RJJ in 1993, never been stopped in 59 fights, and it must be noted that the fight BEGINS at the negotiation table and it's clear that he is equally adept at imposing himself there as he is in the ring, even when he is the underdog.

The guy has been fighting and winning on a championship/elite level for nearly 20yrs consistently, and is still doing so at 46; if that's not greatness, I don't know what is.

Looking at his defence at the time, an accumulation stoppage is well within imagination. Hopkins didn't really hurt Johnson but he was just taking too many shots, so if Calzaghe did the same, I think the result would be the same.

Hopkins had power and accuracy in 1997. Calzaghe never had much of either. The very idea he could've stopped a fighter like Glen Johnson is lunacy.

I've been a fan of Hopkins since his 2nd fight in February 1990. I still think his most impressive win was against Wayne Powell, back in December 1992.

I would put the Glen Johnson win, in July 1997, at #2. The win over Felix Trinidad, in September 2001, is #3.
