That 8th title in particular was a farce. FMJ on the other hand has went up in weight and has had to beat some great fighters to remain undefeated. Total resume I'd give it to Pacquiao, but essentially by comparing Floyd Jr's 0 to Pacquiao's 8th title win, you are comparing Floyd's entire resume to Pacquiao's Margarito win.

I think that if there weren't so many title across so many divisions we might see Pac as the first legit 5 weight world champion with championships at 112, 118, 126, 135 and 147.

Also a catchweight against a light middleweight and a paper title at lightweight.

    Morales wasn't prime:lol:

He beat him sandwiched between defeats involving a schooling by the mighty Zahir Raheem and a points loss to the legendary David Diaz!

regardless of it being a problem for cotto- the point is that the fight did not happen at the weight that the title was for. It was an exhibition that should not have even been FOR the title...

Yet he fought the 147 title at a catchweight and picked the easiest option going at lightweight to pick up a title against a guy that was given the belt rather than by winning it.

True, although it could be stated that he had more opportunity to win belts in different weight classes due to the proliferation of titles that just weren't there for older fighters.

Personally, I've got Pac standing at four lineal championships (which you've already stated). While he wasn't officially the man at 122, or currently the man at 147; he was a legitimate, and probably top contender for that honor once the lineal champions abdicated their thrones. So that's a total of six.

Since you have to apply the same standards to Mayweather, he's operating at a total of three lineal championships (130,135, 147), plus one division where he was a legit titleholder (154).

So, in my mind anyway, it stands at 6-4 Pac in terms of championship/title count. Mayweather's undefeated, but Pac's weight differential from the time he won his first title till the present day is greater.

Pac, therefore, would probably land a little higher on my personal ATG list if he and Mayweather retired tomorrow. But Floyd wouldn't be very far behind him. Since they're careers are still in progress, I'm going to wait to see what happens before I determine which of the two is more historically relevant.

I guess you can say he still protects his fighters. He won't let any of them near Mayweather. Btw Margarito and Cotto have never been on Floyds level. Not even close.

Pac is a legit 7 weight champion, with three losses

Floyd is a legit 5 weight champion, with zero losses

IMO, as of right now Pac is SLIGHTLY ahead of Floyd when it comes to accomplishments. If Floyd can add a LEGIT sixth weight class and keep his "0", he will edge Pac. It doesn't seem likely that he could fight at 160 though, so for him to pass Pac he either has to 1) fight Pac and beat him AND/OR 2) fight a few strong contenders from 140-154 and WIN

I don't think people realize that before he broke off with Arum (and became a mega star), he was the high-risk, low-reward type of fight that fighters are hesitant to take.

People picture Floyd as being a superstar throughout his career. If u want to say Arum protected Floyd, fine...but if that's true than the exact same is true about Pac recently.

The fact is it has been documented that Floyd would have and wanted to fight many of the names that people list him as ducking, but Arum didn't want to make the matches to protect his own fghters from Floyd. But people will irrationally hate and make up or choose to ignore facts.

a prime margarito is a sucky fighter all around...no skills none whatsoever..and no power...slow as fuk..easy to hit...cotto is just too small for Ortiz....Ortiz would kill them BOTH at the SAME TIME in their prime...he's too much of a monster...learn about the game of boxing!

If anything Margarito hits harder than Maidana, faster, and accurate. Margarito would of made Ortiz quit like a little ***** and I'm sure majority of ESB would agree. Cotto who beat Mosley would school Ortiz please dont compare the two. Does Ortiz have any notable wins? Besides an overrated Berto? (Who got a gift decision against Luis Collazo)

Get floyd's nuts outta your mouth. And Let me ask you something, do you watch any other fights besides pacquiao/mayweather? I've noticed all you really comment on is Mayweather/Pac threads.. we dont need anymore trolls in this forum.
Your telling me to learn the game of boxing, well so far all I've heard from you is "Ortiz is monsterouos omgg liek his size n power is like a better version of pacquiao" You sound like a 12 year old shut the **** up. please.
