Oh yeah - the other champ at the weight at the time was Stevie Forbes (IBF). That would have been a nice one for the purists.

He's like family for Floyd, though - so that would have never happened anyway.

Not that Floyd chasing unification in any form was ever that much more likely. The dude is single-minded in his WBC obsession.

I voted for the Cotto fight. In 2008, Cotto was at his peak and Mayweather had just come off beating Hatton and i would say was at his physical peak. It would have been a great fight.

And yes, can't understand why Floyd went to Mosley rather than Pacquiao. Blame probably to go round on both sides, but i think that fight could still come off.

I don't really think you can fault Floyd's resume at 135 and below. Up until the Corrales fight he fought pretty much anyone put in front of him. It was from when he took on Gatti at 140 (though people forget that Gatti was considered to have had a much better chance against the smaller man than is now the consensus) and started aiming for belts rather than lineal titles that he no longer went after the real dangerous guys. If he continued taking on the best challengers as he had up until Castillo then I believe he would have cemented a greater legacy for himself.

He took TWO eliminators (Corley and Brusseles) just to get to Gatti at that. That would be like Pac fighting two chumps just to get to David Diaz.

Bob Arum was the one picking his opponents. Just saying, Floyd was with Top Rank. So you are complaining about Bob Arum essentially.

Bob Arum wanted him to fight Margarito too

IMO it has to be Pac. This current version is on a phenomenal run and will go down as an upper echelon ATG

The emote doesn't make you right. You know what I said is completely accurate. Sorry it did not fit your "blame Mayweather" agenda.

It's called facts, deal with it.

Bob Arum offered a 3 fight deal. This has been covered numerous times.

According to Bob Arum, not Mayweather, Mayweather was ok with the Margarito fight, but wanted more money for Cotto and Hatton, plus 20 million to fight Oscar. Bob's initial offer was 8 for Margarito, and if I remember correctly, 7 each for Cotto and Hatton.

Bob Arum decided not to resign Mayweather. If you want the link I will get it for you. Bob Arum has feuded with Oscar ever since he split from Top Rank as well, and was not interested in making that fight happen like Mayweather requested.

This whole "Mayweather ducked Margarito" is based on pure speculation. The facts don't say that at all. In fact, it looks like Bob Arum wanted to short change Floyd on his earnings (Pacquiao fans should know all about that) and decided he wasn't worth the financial investment.

Mayweather went on to huge paydays, Bob Arum has been bitter ever since.

I was laughing more at your pathetic quick rescue to Floyd. You can cry all day, "Blame Arum!!", but Floyd was the one to take those fights.

Again, it has nothing to do with "rescue Floyd." It has to do with people like you making **** up to fit your bull**** agenda.

I'm a fan of both Manny and Floyd, so you can take your stupid assumptions and shove them up your ass. Don't get all butt hurt cause I called you out for making **** up.

You should try just shutting your mouth from time to time and thinking before you decide to speak. Maybe then you won't look like an idiot.

 Floyd bought out his contract. Decided NOT to resign Mayweather? Really? What did Floyd pay Arum some 600K for again?

The funny things is, you floyd fanboys buy this **** with ease. There was nothing to stop Floyd from fighting Margarito, then discussing the purse after the fight. What you don't get is, why guarantee the purse for two fights a year or two away, when a loss can easily **** that up? Happened to judah numbnuts. Remember? But that doesn't matter, you have your nice, convenient excuse to run to every time.
