Oh, I made it up that Floyd fought two eliminators to face Gatti. I made that up, that is what you are now saying. ****in ******. So **** off with your "Im a fan of both...", you post as negatively about Pac as anyone else... And all you said was Arum picked em. As if you know that to be a fact. Smug *****...
Yes, Arum decided not to resign Mayweather. If Arum gave Mayweather the offer he wanted, he doesn't buy out of the contract with Top Rank. It is a simple concept to understand. Giving him less for Cotto and Hatton made absolutely no sense for one, and also he was not willing to work with Oscar. That fight ended up breaking all previous PPV records remember? Bob Arum is quoted as saying it was his decision. Spin it however you want dip ****.
That proves Floyd was his own man at that time. If you blame Arum for fights like Bruseles and Corley, you have to give him credit for Castillo and Corrales, probably the two riskiest fights Floyd's ever taken, to go with Gernaro Hernandez in like his 17th fight. Anyway, whether it's Arum's fault Mayweather didn't fight Cotto, Margarito, Pac, or it's Floyd's fault, ultimately it only hurts Floyd's legacy. Arum didn't lose anything, other than the money his company would've gotten from those big fights. It's illogical to think that Arum would sabotage big money fights that would put good money in his pockets, just to get back at Floyd. He continued working with De La Hoya, despite their bitter seperation, matched his most popular fighters with Oscar and Oscar's fighters (Pac-JMM II, Pac-DLH, Pavlik-Hopkins, Cotto/Margarito-Mosley)
Pacquiao - Floyd would have been the most exciting (Which isnt saying much). I think a younger shane would have knocked him out. Pacquiao would either stop him late or get a deicsion, but it would be a more active fan-friendly fight, because of Pacquiao's style. Cotto would most likely lose to Floyd in a decision.
if you think about it..this would be manny's list Joan Guzman Raheem Nate Campbell Katsidis Juan Diaz Casamayor Devon Alexander Timothy Bradley Mayweather Sergio Martinez P-dub Raheem GIVES him trouble IMO at the time.
