    Looks like the teacher as well as yourself are being way to conservative and narrow-minded.

    Yes, as an immigrant or children of an immigrant you can't deny your roots but if you live in a country, feeling good to live there and having most of your social network there yu can call yourself being a citizen of that country with ... roots.

    For example, AA sees himself being an Armenian/German - most of his life is based in Germany but he doesn't deny his roots and makes a trip to his former home when ever it's possible. He also stated that he can't be there for much longer then a week.

    This is how I feel too. When I return to Romania, I don't feel at home completely anymore. I am not like all the other Romanians. I miss Britain and British people and want to come back after two-three weeks. I don't mind Odo calling me a Britain-based Romanian. But I DO mind Khan being called an England-based Pakistani. Big difference between me and Khan.
