Wrestling and anything. Deciding where the fight takes place is more important than anything else.

Both are good but i like boxing and bjj better just because with bjj, you can end the fight at anytime when you're on the ground.

    Bjj-boxing = Bj Penn

Not trying to critize you but as a pretty experienced Muay Thai boxer who also supplemented with alot of boxing, the boxer in and out thing just doesnt work if you are dealing with a guy who really knows how to throw straight knees a la Muay Thai. The lead knee counter is quick, more powerful and the boxer dosen't see it coming.

Combine this with everytime you jump out you are smashed with a lowkick to your lead leg where boxers tend to put at least 50% of body weight it becomes pretty tough for a boxer. Throw in everytime a boxer instinctivly dips low in defense he falls onto a knee or comes close gets pulled into a clinch, pummleed with knees then relesed and hit with a quick elbow on the break life becomes even harder for the boxer. This aside from pummlings at distance from powerful round kicks that the boxer will incorrectly block with his arms............

    Shall I go on?

That scenario works pretty well under sports rules but any weight difference or cross skills and it unravels fast.

IMO a westerner fighting in the low - mid weight classes should be looking at MT, wrestling and BJJ.

A westerner fighting in the upper weight classes should be looking at Dutch MT, Judo and BJJ.

My reply was to the Western boxer v Thai boxer scenario mentioned by the previous poster.

I know nothing about MMA I'm a Muay Thai guy.

I say this as far more of a boxing fan than muay thai but that tendency to finish combinations with a leg kick kiiiiiiills boxers.. its like kryptonite to western boxing. have seen it many times in fact one of my favourite aspects of fighting is watching someone get broken down with leg kicks

Your right about the kryptonite effect. This is largely due to boxers putting too much weight the front foot, which is just asking to be cracked. That's also one of my favs to watch, a good Thai breaking guys down with repetative low kicks to the lead leg.

Kickboxing/Wrestling would be pretty unbeatable. Just imagine Anderson with great TD defense.

Kung Fu and Karate, with a dash of JKD thrown in for good measure

Can't tell if your serious.

By the way, doesn't JKD already have both Kung Fu and Karate elements incorporated.
