I agree with this.

I think some posters are conflating bigger upset with greater win.

Tyson was the dominant champion and Douglas nowhere near as well regarded as Schmeling, so the Douglas win is the bigger upset.

I don't consider that Louis was any further away from reaching his peak vs Schmeling, than Tyson's peak was behind him vs Douglas, and therefore, given Louis is clearly greater than Tyson, Max's win over him is the greater of the two wins, imo.

 

True enough that purely based on upset in the moment, Douglas-Tyson is peerless.
