Which kind of fight do you prefer: knock-down, drag-out brawls or tactical, craft-filled fights?

I like watching magicians like Loma force their opponents to quit through nothing but the application of otherworldly skill and technical wizardly whilst somehow simultaneously fighting with a very aggressive style and being able to be pull off being one of the best offensive and best defensive fighters in the sport. And I mean actual slickness and defensive greatness to avoid getting hit not risk averse running, octopus grabbing, boxing at range behind a long jab, ducking below waist level, and the use of various other illegal or cowardly tactics ''great defence''

I also like watching elite slow-fast speed maestros like Big Joe Joyce defy the laws of physics whilst simultaneously baffle all the DKSAB and DKSASFS brigades with his next level slow-fast speed magic

I prefer ultra violence carried out at the elite level —
    • Pacquiao-Marquez IV
    • Inoue fights
    • Beterbiev-Gvozdyk
    • Duran-Hearns

Brawl. All day every day. Sorry purists but watching the "sweet science " of boxing, while often more impressive, it is also usually far less entertaining than an old fashioned donnybrook!

One of the factors that made watching the Four Kings fight so enjoyable is that all four of them were skilled at both styles of fighting. I prefer a fight that has both but forced to pick one I will go with an educated brawl.

Depends on the fighters involved. Many of us would like to see a good brawl but we also want to see the technical side of it. You can have the best of the both worlds where we see a violent chess match that's grueling and beautiful. The Barrera vs Morales fights are a shining example of fights being a brawl and also highly technical as well.

The one that finishes and I am gutted it cannot go on for another 12 rounds. For me it is either, but the best fights are where the momentum keeps switching between the fighters, making it harder to know what is going to happen. Whether that is a tactical affair or a shootout I am not fussed.

Just so we have this defined correctly:

    Knock-Down filled fights:
    Jose Zepeda vs Ivan Baranchyk
    Naseem Hamed vs Kevin Kelley

    Drag-Out Brawls:
    Arturo Gatti vs Micky Ward
    Bobby Chacon vs Rafael Limon

    Craft-Filled Fights:
    James Toney vs Mike McCallum
    Pernell Whitaker vs Buddy McGirt

Tony v McCallum is a much higher level fight than Gatti v Ward. I liked Corales v Castillo 1, two great fighters just throwing down. Also Marquez v Vazquez fights, just amazing skill, power, durability and brutality. They're the ones who deserve the big bucks, not phloyd.

I like eye pleasing styles where I can sit back and say "wow" and really show apprciation.

I don't really like scrappy fights where people just swing away because to me it shows the fighter is not putting a lot of work in the gym to learn their craft and develop a high ring IQ.

Someone like Chocolatito I can watch all day long.

What the Joyce/Parker fight was, which category is that? Two guys taking hits in order to throw punches, not holding back.

Holyfield vs Bowe style technical brawls.

Also fights where a dominant champion is given a good beating like Tyson vs Douglas.
