Wladimir has surpassed Vitali and clearly has the greater resume

Well, if we wer talking kickboxing, then Vatali would be the man, but Wladmir has really come into his own as a boxer and now easily eclipses anything his brother did. Sure, he lost to Purrity, but that's ancient history. His wins over Brock, Byrd, and Brewster were dominating. Even when faced with the hard hands of Sam Peter, he turned it around and outboxed the brawler to a UD win. He's taking on and beating the best the division has to offer today. Vitali should stay retired and just support his little bro toward being undisputed.

    Wlad, BY FAR.

Wlad: Byrd (twice), Schulz, Botha, Barrett, McCline, Williamson, Peter, Brock, Brewster.

    Vitali: Hide, Johnson, Sanders, Williams.

In terms of wins, yes, Wlad certainly.

In terms of RESUME, although I still think Wlad has the SLIGHTLY better resume, no way it's by FAR.

Cause a resume INCLUDES losses, and Wlad losses include: Ross Purity TKO 11, Corrie Sanders TKO 2, and Lamon Brewster TKO 5. :scaredas:

Vitaly's losses include: Lennox Lewis TKO 6 (up by 4 rounds to 2 on all cards, stopped on cuts) - this loss is better than ANYTHING Wlad has done in his 50 fights as a pro and however many hundred as an amateur. Chris Byrd TKO 10 (up clearly on all cards, stopped on injury).

Taking the losses into account, I think their overall RESUMES are much closer. Although I'd agree with the consensus that Wlad has slowly started to take over.

Another loss to another non-descript fighter? Ouch!

I agree...Wladmir has better wins, but worse losses.
So that's what makes it close.

Wlad deserves to be ahead in my book but like you say, another loss would be very harmful.

To be fair, pretty much everyone here thinks Wlad is the #1 guy. And that's saying something, considering less than one and a half year ago, 90% thought he was a glass jawed fighter with no stamina.

I pressed the wrong damn button......Anyway, if it's wins that we are looking at, it's definitely Wladimir.

As much as I was a fan of Vitaly, I must agree.

i think that the sleazy alphabet crooks will not allow that.

wlad will be looked upon as the true champ (nearly everyone sees him as the best hw right now), but the alphabet crooks will find one way or another to strip a fighter so he can't have all the belts at once.

Very good post, I myself feel that Wlad has a better resume. Prime Wlad vs Prime Vitali, Vitali wins 9 out of 10 times, he is by far mentally stronger than Wlad, theres skills are comparable, but Wlad has a slight edge. Vitali would expose Wlads glass chin early and he got good enough chin to take Wlads best shots early on.

Obviously Wlad but Vitali was arguably the better fighter.

I tend to think that Wlad is the better fighter now, however. Wlad looks unbeatable at this point...as though he never had the terrible losses in the first place.

vitali is losing this poll worse than the ones in his homeland.
