I have watched his big fights, but I want to check out some of his lesser known fights. For example are his fights with Norwood and John worth watching?

I would avoid those two. There's very little action in either fight and the styles didn't mesh well at all.

I'd say JMM's fights with Victor Polo, Manuel Medina and Salido are all worth watching.

After that, you're getting into his more famous fights like Diaz, Casamayor and Katsidis.

His style did not mesh well with Casamayor either

I would advice you to watch his fights with Terdsak Kokietgym(One of Marquez best performances) Jimrex Jaca both these fights happened after the controversial loss to John and it seem that starting with the Jaca fight he decided to change his style to a more fan friendly style and became one of the most exciting fighters in the world.

Do you think he deserved to win it?
How did he fight before he made the change?

For whatever it's worth, I didn't think the John decision was that bad. It could definitely have been scored to Marquez but it wasn't a robbery. Tough fight to score.

For most of his career, JMM was a pure counter-puncher. He would move and wait for his opponent to initiate the action before trying to capitalise on their mistakes. He stayed outside most of the time. Afterwards, he became much more aggressive. Counter-punching was still the best facet of his game but he began to fight more in mid-range.

Pure counter punchers can be pretty boring to watch. I'm glad he made the change
