I still say Bob Foster, with all due respect to all the other candidates.

From what I've seen he hasn't the highlight reel of devastating one-punch KO's of top opponents (Tiger, Quarry etc) like Foster, but I can't remember seeing in any weight class how even grazing blows do funny things with an opponent like Kovalev's does.

    poor Mwale

He's dead - died in his 50's back in Zaire

He did decision Marvin Johnson when they were both coming up, but he lost most of his big fights.

He was excellent at the African and European Level, but not quite championship material. Of course he fought when the division was stacked.

In 1992, he was thrown in with Virgil Hill and his manager ran off with his purse. i remember reading that in a boxing Mag back then.

How could Tiger Jack Fox not be on the list ? Ring Magazine rated him
as 51 on the ATG list of Top 100 punchers. He ko future HW champion
Walcott and is second on the all time list of first round ko's.

He is not on the list because he does not fit the criteria.

Eddie is the most underrated puncher going at 175. The problem is so many of his terrific ko's are not on film and also later on he was pretty laid back and in a way lazy. At one point he was nominated the biggest puncher at 175 above a peak Saad and Spinks who was soon to take his title. He is a big puncher with either hand and i personally have him ahead of Saad and Johnson. I would agree with Foster in this thread. Spinks and Moore couldn't be far behind.

Very well put JT1! I have the highest estimation of EMM. That performance vs Marvin Johnson impressed me no end. The screwball could have had a much greater career and legacy than he has today.

Dick Tiger had some serious power, though more of a sledgehammer rather than of a crisp decisive one punch variety.

Even though I'm a Michael Spinks' guy, Bob Foster hands down.
