Tyson the best fight... If you can, an order would be nice... Jack Johnson Marciano Charles Walcott Moore Tunney
none but i'd say charles walcott tunney moore johnson marciano (one of the greatest fighters ever but vs prime tyson is a stylistic nightmare for him)
Johnson, Marciano, and Walcott weren't LHW's... Stylistically, I'd give Walcott and Johnson the best chance, because clinching and short, inside punching was a strong point for both. Both defensive, slick guys who can spoil a bit. In the end, they both still probably lose. In order of best chance to worst, I'd say: Johnson Walcott Charles Tunney Marciano Moore
What I meant to say was CW.. but typed the wrong thing... According to you.. Johnson did he best work at that weight and Marciano was the best CW for you besides Holy I believe... So none of them give Tyson any pause?
atsch Why would Johnson, Walcott, and Marciano drain down to 174 to fight Tyson? Maybe Iron Mike should drain down to the Crusier limit to make it interesting? :nut That said I'd go with Tunney and Charles. Moore's performance against Patterson gives me doubts he could handle Tyson's hand speed and aggression.
Moore's cross-armed "armadillo" defence would leave him vulnerable to body shots. Tyson would rip left hooks into that cavernous scar on Archie's stomach and disembowel him. Charles would get a nasty beating , Tunney would have to be on top form with his loping legs just to survive. Johnson might frustrate Tyson inside and land enough uppercuts to take a dec. Walcott would maybe look good for awhile, possibly scoring a flash knockdown but his chin would not be able to take the quick handed Tyson's power.
Tillis,Tucker,Green, and Smith demonstrated how to go the distance with Tyson during that time line. I think Jack Johnson was significantly better than any of those, and therefore has the best chance of accomplishing the victory. But not if he weighed 175lbs!
I agree, Tyson is all wrong for Moore. Well, Charles at his best is a God as far as I'm concerned. He won't be the favorite but if any LHW can do it, its him. Well yeah, if we are counting actual heavies I think Johnson could pull it off. Walcott is interesting, if he shows up in top form, doesn't get too cute, and can make it into the middle rounds and discourage Mike, I don't like Tyson's chances of pulling a Louis or Marciano come from behind late round victory.
