The usual suspects would be up for nomination. Guys like Dempsey, Marciano, Holyfield. But to be honest I'm staring to believe that their chances would be diminished by lack of size. I would have liked to have seen him in with a clever rangey boxer like Usyk.

To be honest, I don't fancy any "little guy" vs Wlad who was superb at imposing his size.

Edit: My bad, my nominations are all cruisers. Light heavies ... nobody. Can't see it. Dirty Dan's nomination below of Spinks is about the best I can think of, too, but he'll also lose.

Wlad really knows how to utilize his size, if clinching wasn't a thing there would be many fighters that would beat him, but currently the ones I see would have to be able to get around that.

If it's a primed wlad were talking about I'm going with
    Michael spinks
    Evander holyfield
    Mike Tyson
    Joe Frazier

Three of those that you mentioned don't fit the size criteria. He said light heavies.

Oh whoops, thought I'd would be about small heavyweights, well the only two that fought at light heavyeights i could see beating him would be Michael spinks
Evander holyfield, but they might be too green at that point to beat wlad most likely

I'm not the biggest fan of wlad but I don't see a light heavy beating him in prime .Spinks of the Holmes fight could give him a few awkward rounds till eventually wlad catches up with him. Moorer would end up being KO'd to ,long before the final round. Roy Jones may out box him briefly but at some point wlad would lower the boom.
Wlad used what he had to good effect ,even though it wasn't the most exciting to watch .To beat him in prime would be quite hard for a light heavy moving up.The heavy s these day's have so much weight advantage over the 175 pounder s ,that it's a uphill battle from the start for the smaller fellas .

tunney, spinks, bob fitz. Perhaps kovalev with his monstrous power.

holyfield, though thats a bit of cheat since he hardly was once.

Several others - you are talking about guys above or equivalent to Brews, retired sanders and the other guy.

I can't really see any lightheavyweights beating him. There are a few that might trouble him for a few rounds, but once he lands that straight right hand, it's Goodnight.

The problem is Wlad's boxing style. Look at the Chagaev fight. Chaggy is considerably bigger and more powerful than a cruiser, let alone a LHW. And he had endless problems in just getting in range to throw punches that would land. Wlad's reach advantage was so enormous that he compleely defused Chagaev's attack simply by moving a little. In return, he was hitting Chaggy with jabs and rights practically from orbit. There was a moment where Wlad basically held Chagaev's head bully-style at the end of his outstretched arm, which really underlined the size disparity.

Now we shrink the boxer facing him a little more? Naaah. Not going to happen.

It's like taking an early-war WW2 Sherman tank and pitching it against a Tiger 2. Even if the Tiger is crewed by a troupe of morons, the mechanical advantages are simply too vast for the crew of the other tank to overcome. Unfortunately, Wlad has world class skill to go wih his size.

Now, if we could take a Spinks and magically enlarge him to 230lb ... then we'd see something.

Wlad does better against Elite Light Heavies than he does against Elite Heavy weights. Wlad isn't really that good against Elite fighters from his own division.

 Amazing! Dino managed to work out that an elite 250lb fighter beats an elite 175lb fighter!

Somebody call Starbucks and get this man a cup of coffee with a biscuit!
