    He beats most of them.
    Maybe all of them.
Ali's maybe the only one who'd be truly expected to beat him.
Louis, maybe Holmes stand a chance too.

Have you bothered to look at the KO percentage Shavers has compared to Liston?. Not even close. So I can ask you the same question. Have you been hit by both?

    76 to 72? That's not close?
And we both know that a KO percentage is moreso based off of the amount of filler you fight as well as power

And since Liston started facing higher level talent earlier in his career than Shavers did your point is null

How is it null I dont consider Liston this great puncher your making him out to be. Look at his record. Hes a good puncher not a great puncher.
You keep talking about Listons rt hand we h err n it was his hook that was his money punch.
What about Holmes rt uppercut? One of the most overlooked aspects when discussing Holmes. He had a vicious rt uppercut.
Hes a better boxer than Liston
    Better jab
    Better ring general
    Better uppercut
Faster rt hand not harder but faster.
More experienced. Are you forgetting he was a sparring partner to Ali Frazier and Shsvers.
    Better resume
    More longevity
    Showed more heart IMO
Equally as tough if not more so.
But you stick to your rt hand theory. BTW how many times was Holmes KO'd in something like 70 fights?

This is it. We just have a difference of opinion

I think Liston is the most well rounded puncher at HW, him or Tyson

I think Louis was the best puncher technically and that Foreman was the most powerful but Liston was the best mix of both

Agreed. It isn't talked about enough.
I agree with all points except the jab. To me the best way to use the jab is to set up for the long run, it's not the only way but imo it's the best. The power in Liston's jab would hurt his opponents and they would carry that pain for the fight, Holmes's jab was more versatile and I can see the other way around

I also think that Holmes is a greater HW by at least 4 places

    He definitely loses to
    Holmes
    Foreman
    Lewis
    He maybe loses to
    Louis
    Johnson
    Dempsey
    Bowe
    I'm undecided about
    Marciano
And is it crazy to believe he loses to Tyson Fury or Vit Klitschko ?

Someone already said who doesn’t he beat which I believe to be a more accurate question. Only ones I think win or stand a chance are Ali, Louis, Marciano, Foreman, Tyson and Holmes and even then I think Liston probably wins half of them

Liston Fury would make for an interesting press conference!

Dempsey, Marciano, Foreman, Holmes, Ali, Louis

I think all of them beat Liston. Holmes and Louis have the hardest time of it. Evander Holyfield is 50/50 for me

They all have their off nights or struggles. I scored it for Lewis. Mercer was supremely durable and man he took some serious shots in there.

I'm a huge Lewis fan and had it a draw, I could see a genuine argument either way, but I think that fight showed us insight on how this one would go, I broke it down in one of my first posts here

Bowe was easier to hit than Liston.

Ino but he was also bigger, had a better chin and allround game and is still only a 50-50

Shavers wasn`t very good at feinting fighters out of position to catch them Holmes was sloppy and got nailed, Liston set his punches up better than Shavers with a powerful jab, there was really no comparison between Shavers and Liston other than thee power, Liston had a better reach too, Holmes was helped by having long arms, but Liston`s jab would actually be longer than Larry`s.

Liston`s jab was more powerful than Bowe`s and his hook was more devastating.
