The SKILL in OUTBOXING Sergio Martinez during the mid rounds. OF COURSE. atsch Pavlik demonstrated far greater ring intelligence and the ABILITY TO ADJUST after getting dominated in the early rounds - than fighters like Jeff Lacy, Antonio Margarito, and Mikkel Kessler, against similarly skilled and athletic opponents. Pavlik could have lost every round. EASY. That isn't what happened.
Well he can still beat the regular contenders and non elites, but what i meant by over i was talking about as a name "HBO house fighter" I dont think he is an elite fighter in the game "PFP type" he probably never was. Bute,Ward,Dirrell would beat him easy and probably some of the others at SM Kessler,Abraham . Maybe even Froch. At middle Williams also beats him not to mention a lot of upand comers. He already went as high as he will ever go.
Hopkins was much worse IMO. Pavlik got his ass handed to him by an old man. and didn't have the guts to admit it.
He didn't show skilled. Pavlik just catch Martinez when Martinez stop throwing punches in the middle 4 rounds but after that when Martinez started to throw punches, Pavlik "skilled" was no where to be found.
Worse in what way? If you mean 'most lopsided loss', it was vs Hopkins. If you mean 'most damaging to his image/career', it was vs Martinez.
Yes Hopkins shut out Pavlik but it was at 170 pounds in which thats way too high for Pavlik. Martinez was worse cause Martinez is the smaller fighter bleeding the hell out of Pavlik in Pavlik's weight class.
Man WTF are you talking about. Seriously. Pavlik did a great job of adapting, cutting the distance and getting to Martinez more and more after the 4th round and until the 8th. It takes ring smarts, determination and skills to do that. It's not easy to do that against a lightning fast guy like Martinez, who punches from different angles all the time and moves in and out.
WTF am i talking about??? I know exactly what i'm talking about in which i was the first person that says Martinez will beat Pavlik. Anyway Pavlik didn't show any skills. <<It was more of Martinez not throwing the punches that he did in the first 4 rounds. Pavlik did show is heart and the will but skilled? What's next? Mayorga got skilled too? :rofl When Martinez pick up the pace in the 9th, the so called "impressive" skills was no where to be found.
Martinez loss was worse cuz he was expected to beat him. Martinez was smaller and was supposed to be a tune up for PW. B-Hop will go down as one of the best ever so losing to him ain't so bad.
Booradley was talking about Pavlik who hits harder then Williams in which is true but Williams is faster and throws from every angles while Pavlik throws just straight punches. Example in the Cintron fight, Martinez was easily beating Cintron in which Cintron hits harder then Williams.
