Which former middleweight champs from the past would have been world champs at 168 if that division had been created in their respective eras?

Coming down the other way from as small light heavies, Conn and Fourie. Fourie was an outstanding pure boxer but too small to deal with Foster, 168 would've been ideal for him.

I'm not sure they would have let Fitz in there, or maybe handicap him in some way!

Good call on Fourie. If he'd had more size and power he'd have been scary. 168 would have been the sweet spot for a guy like him.

Not for me, lack of power and a small middleweight rarely over 163lbs

His power is so scary that I can't imagine what he'd have done, had he fought the whole career at MW. I don't see anyone beating him in that era at that weight (or LHW either).

Yeah, it's a testament to his ability that he took Foster the route he did twice. People usually say that you can't magically impose assets onto a fighter like power without it affecting other traits, which is sometimes true, but more power to light hitting guys who fight like boxer punchers works to me in theory. Give Alberto Davila Eder Jofres punch and that's one nasty ******* of a fighter you've got, because it isn't going to affect his other fundamental mechanics like it might, say, Pep.

If Davilla had that power he'd be like a Terminator.
