Which MMA fighter has the worst nut huggers ?

I find the mma forum of ESB to be generally more civil than the boxing forum, and it is a lot rarer to classify someone as a "hater" or a "nut hugger" because, well, we're all fans.

That said I would think that BJ Penn is currently the most overrated fighter. People still have him highly ranked p4p coming off of back to back losses.

Right now easily Chael Sonnen.

 

Damn harsh on the Fedor fans eh? Guy has one legit loss in his entire career and we are the nut huggers? With guys like Sonnen, who has been subbed, as well as tested positive for test, still have people calling Chael; "The man."

Or Lesnar? Was subbed by Mir for a loss already, narrowly survives getting his face pushed in by Carwin, only to come back with an awfully sloppy takedown, and but with a nice sub which wasn't really defended at all for a victory..

Penn fans can be bad, but the guy has a legacy as well. But whatever.

Real fans appreciate skill, technique and the intangibles regardless of record. I still love guys who are past it, or have shitty records, or are just the ****ing man. Sakuraba, Genki Sudo, Couture, Big Nog, Hughes and Wanderlei are some MMA Gods in my book. A bit past it, but damned I got a ton of respect for these guys as fighters.

 

It's a nose for nose race between B.J. Penn and Fedor Emelianenko for different reasons and then...several rungs down...there's another tier and then pretty much everyone else. Those two really have the fans that take this cake...

 

Pride FC has the worst nut huggers on the web. The promotion is 3 years dead but some people just can't move on.

 

Haters tend to be worse than nuthuggers.

I would agree with BJ and Fedor though; their fans tend to be well reasoned and the fighters are obviously great.

However, there is a vocal minority of their fans that consider them deities, and act like holocaust deniers about losses or other negative things.

Fedor. Although before it all went down, Chael Sonnen's supporters were getting unsufferable in their exaggeration of the awesomeness of his trash talking and the extent of his drawing power.
