Which top-level fighters from 2000 onwards (no matter how unpopular the opinion) would you pick to beat some of the past greats.

    I'd pick:

    Pacquiao over Chavez at 140
    Mayweather over Arguello at 130
    Cotto over Benitez at 147
    Klitschko(s) over Ali at 200+

I would favor Vitali over Floyd Patterson, Rocky Marciano, ingomar Johansson, maybe frazier....maybe.

Vitali is not modern. He is part of history past.

He is still a modern fighter. Fighters from the last 20 years are seen as modern fighters. Read the OP again. I said top-level fighters from 2000 onwards, not still active from 2000. Vitali ticks that box.

They tick the box aswell. Just like I said before - they don't still have to he active - just top-levels from the 2000s <

The jury is still out on a lot of the active guys but I believe Pac and Uysk are special fighters because of their willingness to fight anyone whether it be a bad style match-up or in the opponents backyard. Uysk hasn't proved it at heavyweight yet but I would pick him over any cruiserweight in history other than Holyfield at this point.

Some great match ups that's for sure.
Mayweather certainly has the speed and skill to make it happen but I'd be curious when Arguello lands that right-hand.
Pac vs Chavez would have been a great fight.

I'd back prime Lennox, Vitali and Fury to beat every heavyweight that's ever been.

There is no past great that I could say would go through all 3 of those guys without a loss.
