Which Modern Fighters Would Each of the Fab 5 have Struggled with the Most?

Enigmadanks do you think Tommy Hearns would just say I would knock out Pac, Mayweather ect ect ect in 1 round?

Of course he is going to be modest and give other fighters praise.

Jesh and you actually take things fighters say to heart. Funny kid.

If you are thinking old MMH yeah he has a shot but prime . . . MMH all day. Hearns is 10x better than tarver and had the power to put RJJ to sleep. so Prime V Prime at 160 I give the nod to Hearns.

Well first off, I'm not a kid, I'm in my 30's.

Secondly, that was HIS personal assessment on how he thought they would fare against him. It wasn't like he posted a simple one sentence in response, he delved into specific details on how he thought those hypothetical matchups would go.

There are plenty of retired fighters who overvalue their worth and would say something nonsensical like "I'd knock out x fighter in 2 rounds." Tommy was brought up in the school of the Kronk Gym, so I think he knows a thing or 2 about boxing and I actually appreciate how he went into detail about how they would perform against the Fab 4.

What's most telling about that interview is that it happened in 2010 when Pacman was seemingly indestructable and he still felt Floyd would beat him. I'd like to know what he currently thinks their chances would be given how Pac and Floyd have looked since 2010.

As a previous poster pointed out, I think he beats Duran and Benitez at 147, I'd favor SRL probably 60-40 and I'd favor Hearns 70-30. Hagler I won't even consider since he was a MW, maybe not the largest MW, but still a MW nonetheless.

On the flipside I think Pacman only beats Benitez out of the bunch.

Pacman against Duran is a fight that could be a fight of the century candidate. It could have all the makings of one of the greatest fights in history. I'd favor Duran 60-40, maybe 65-35 against Pacman. he has much better head movement, defense and overall technical ability. One of the few fights also where Pacman wouldn't have the advantage in the power department.

SRL and Hearns are way too big for Manny. They'd knock him out cold by the late rounds, no doubt about it.

Pac beats none of the fab 4 & benitez, that is ludicrous folks! THESE GUYS ARE TO BIG AND MULTIFACETED FOR A GUY WHO STRUGGLES WITH MARQUEZ RIGHT?

I personally think Hearns is a stylistic nightmare for Floyd. Hearns is chinny but Floyd doesn't have the power to stop Hearns walking through him. I think Hearns would stop Floyd mid rounds.

Good post all the same :good

Thurman knocks them all out in under 3 on the same night you demented nostalgic Haglertard.

Good post but I feel Duran would stop Pac late. Duran at his best was a force of nature, the likes of Pac is what Duran thrives on. I honestly think Duran would sneer with contempt at Pacs attempts to land hard shots on him and would bust him up head and body eventually getting the KO round 8 or 9.

I think Lara would have given Duran fits...

GGG could hurt Hearns if he caught him

Man that was a good era... This era sucks...

Thurman is a 90% scaled down Hagler, so he has no chance vs a naturally bigger beast :nono

4-1 (KO 2) is what I expect from Thurman vs the Fab 5, that L definitely from Hagler

Imagine Bradley vs any of those guys! 5'6", no power, not much speed...

Bradley's one of the best fighters today, but against those guys he wouldn't even be a blip on the radar... Kinda makes me sad to think about

Leonard is too fast for Floyd and would demolish him.

Hearns knocks Floyd out after jabbing him to death.

Duran beats Floyd up for a UD.

    Floyd wouldn't fight Hagler.

Benitez is the only guy that's curious against Floyd cause they're both defensive... I don't know how to pick

A motivated Duran would handle Lara no probs. Duran was far too good to be given fits by the likes of Lara. Duran handled guy's who were suposed to give him fits no probs. Moore got destroyed. Barkley got out manned.

I think GGG could hurt Hearns but Hearns would probably walk through him.

I agree this era sucks compared to the fab 4, Benitez, Pryor era
