I no eubank is not every one s flavour of the month, but he certainly had skills and heart when necessary a well as a cast iron chin. Which champs from any era could he have taken on and beat?. This is the eubank version from the first Benn ft.

What about kalmbay, barkley, minter, downes, de witt, Frank tate? Think he could have got most of these guys. I wouldn't be putting the house on it but he certainly wasn't the worst champ going. He had a few faults no doubt but I think he would have found a way to get some of those mentioned.

DeWitt was champ? Kalambay boxes his ears off.Downes outworks him.Minter out points him. Barkley out muscles him.Tate is a toss up.

There is a reason he never took on the top Yanks.

I think he would have had a great fight with Davey Moore.

Good to see the opinions, I think eubank looks liked to be box at a comfortable pace and probably new that the other belt holders wouldn't have kept to that contract so played it safe. He showed the balls of steel against Benn and Watson but after that it was only when he took on Collins and Thompson that he had to dig deep again, but by then he d had his day

His name is "English" and you will address him as such in the centre of the ring if you don't do so right now.

Eubank is underrated, he was a very well balanced boxer, speed, accuracy, great footwork when he was on the backfoot, decieving power, balance, coordination, good head movement and great reflexes, his biggest problem was that he never fought the best guys even when he was active in the best era of the 154-160-168 divisions.

I felt frustrated with him more than anything. He had a lot of heart when Benn and Watson piled it on him. I wanted him to step out of the comfort zone and take on the big names, not been content to beat the cherry picked guys he did. He gave Thompson gruelling fight s and a young calz so he had it in him
