Toney struggled with Tiberi, Jones with Griffin, Nunn with Barkley, Kalambay with Duane Thomas, Jackson with Thomas Tate, etc...

The true, u can pick holes in any fighter s record. Even though eubank didn't fight the top names of the Time doesn't mean to say he would have lost to em all.

Pre Watson II Eubank with his skill and toughness would've had close fights with the very best, he definitely had the best entrance song ever

The OP says "any era", so why not start with the beginning: I'm pretty sure he would beat Nonpareil Dempsey.

Or beat any of them.If he was confident in his ability to do so ,don't you think he would have been calling for those fights?

I think Eubank is being sold dreadfully short on this forum...Micheal Watson and Nigel Benn aren't easy outs for ANY 160 lber. That's my take.

I get where ur coming from mcvey, I feel very frustrated with the guy. I wish he had called out the big names of the Time. Perhaps he just wasn't confident which makes his bragging of course now seems a little silly. The guy had talent , was tough as hell but I think it boiled down to as much money for as little danger as possible. Even though he proved he had heart when needed, he just didn't want to take the chance of proving it against the big names.

Of the Post WW2 lineal champs I'd pick him over Graziano, Cerdan, Fullmer, Basilio, Corro, Minter, Pavlik, Cotto and Alvarez.

Poor Hugo...never gets any credit either...actually with his style, I think he doesn't play to Eubank's strengths at all, and would consequently be a very tough out for Eubank. It would be one of those close, stinker, posing type fights...open to all sorts of interpetations.
