Umm, Pharoah...you are a damn good poster...so I will take it easy on ya for this one.

BUT, you said NOONE is denying that the basic style matchup favors Hopkins???? What website are you reading everyday???

Ummm, go read EVERY post about the fight. ALMOST EVERYONE is saying that the basic style matchup favors Calzaghe.

ALOT of them are even saying I am blind and biased and dont know **** about boxing when I say the style matchup favors Bernard....trust me, if you feel Bernard holds this advantage, then you (like me) are in the minority.

so the question for all the Hopkins fans that i want to ask is the following:

In your opinion, if Hopkins wins is it because he is a better fighter than Calzaghe or because the style matchup was perfect for him?

I think Cal's speed will be tempered with his move up in the class. If Cal switches and adjusts his style, that is the first step towards victory for Hop.

In recent history there is not a fight I can remember Bhop taking that he did not believe he could win.

I think (as do others) that Hopkins see's things he can exploit in cal's game plan. I think the straight right hand is one of them. I do think this is a style fight.

I disagree i think that would be the first step to victory for Calzaghe.

what if Calzaghe is the better fighter, but Hopkins has the style advantage. Then who wins?

Calzaghe is a smart guy in the ring, but not smarter then Hopkins. Hopkins knows he cant just stand and the middle of the ring and try to out box Calzaghe like Kessler tried too. Bhop is going to try to score a clean hard shot ..and get on the move and Calzaghe will come a chasing and that is when he is open to about anything in the BHOP arsenal. Calzaghe's movement is basic as all hell. Nothing flashy. Back and forth in and out. Its his punch technique that is down right ******ed and akward and basically the opposite of how you are taught to throw a punch. Bhop never facing a guy throwing from ******ed angles may be a problem. But I think he is working on a way to parry Calzaghes barrage and move out the way. Bhop BY FAR is the best moving fighter Joe has ever faced. I dont think Calnobody actually fought a fighter that has good movement or even good defense...:think

Hopkins does headbutt a lot, but I think it's due to the fact that he has great fundamentals and keeps his chin tucked into his chest at all times. Most of those headbuts are incidental. His most effective punch is the right uppercutt while holding your head down with the left, or the left jab to the body during a clinch!!!
