Would have done a lot better, coming along before or after his Era? Farr maybe? Conn, Buddy Baer, Godoy??
Conn was the best out of those and would have done better v any heavyweight champ that was champ before Louis, the same goes for Farr, Baer might have knocked out a few of the champs that came before Louis but he didn`t have much ability, neither did Godoy.
Max schmeling was an excellent fighter even before Louis came along. He probably would have done well up until a few decades after but would eventually have to take advantage of the cruiser weight division
Walcott and I think Buddy Baer (and Max really) had they the rihht training would be beasts in any era but especially today.
He'd have possibly been a champ in the fifty s George. But your right, he'd do very well in a good few Era s
Good fighters. Maxim more of a LHW but even he has some good wins. Most have better records then some highly touted less deserving so challengers
