And can we PLEASE start calling the group the Fab#5?
Benitez shouldn't be overlooked and contributed greatly
    to the saga.
Yes, I know he didn't fight Hagler, but that means
Hagler didn't fight him (But Benitez did try, and
judging by the problems fighters that made Hagler
think gave him , I think it would've been very interesting
to see what would've happened between the two.
I don't believe it would have been a cake walk for
Hagler if Benitez was prime ,and possibly a major upset0

Also Benitez beat Duran much more convincingly
    than everyone except Hearns.....
Let's show some love for the "Bible of Boxing"
    "The Radar" and "Wonderful Wilfred".
    Please......

Yoko ducked her mandatory against Paul and top contenders George and Ringo and instead took the soft touch in John for the bigger payday.

But it didn't happen for Hagler either.
So if we're playing that game, it should
    Be the Fab 3...... Right?

    Either Leonard-Duran or Leonard-Hearns. So mouth-watering I couldn't stand it

I was too young to be looking forward to a lot of Fab Four fights, although I do remember the anticipation of Leonard vs Hagler. Looking back I’m surmising that the build up for the 1981 meeting of Leonard vs Hearns must have been huge. Two solid welterweights in the peaks of their primes and both exciting to watch. That must have been a hard one to bet money on.

No because the FOUR of the Fab 4 fought each other Benitez fighting 3 of them makes him out. Of course you could do a Fab 4 with Leonard, Duran, Hearns and Benitez excluding Marvin.

I definitely remember the buildup for Leonard-Hearns I--for a non HW title fight it had as much hype as any fight I can remember in my lifetime. I was in awe of Hearns!! When he dismantled Pipino Cuevas in 1980 I didn't think ANYBODY could ever beat him! A 6"1 welterweight with a 78" reach and a right hand that was an absolute sledgehammer--there was no one like him! I bet EVERY cent I had to my name at the time ($100.00) on Hearns as I was so sure he'd eventually catch SRL with that right and that would be it.

That was a painful lesson on the fickleness of gambling LOL!!

I can imagine. Two legends in the making facing off in their primes. And I can see why many would have favored Hearns at the time. He looked indestructible
