Considering the criticism, which fighter could surprise in a positive way and convince the critics that they are not as bad as many say?
Hrgovic for sure. Ajagba isn't very good, although I think he will beat Shaw. Yoka is a drug cheat who is only relevant because of his robbery over Joyce in the 2016 Olympics. As a Brit I would like Dubois to do well but I don't see him beating a top fighter in a 50/50 fight. We already know he is too static and throws without much punch variety. His power is the reason why he is being discussed as a top prospect. I would like to see a fight between Hrgovic and Dubois though. These contenders need to fight each other and stop messing around.
Off this list I’d definitely go with Filip. Iron chin, good power, strong and a will to learn and get better which he’ll prove here in 2023. But out of the new crop of Heavyweights I think Jalolov will be VERY dangerous as well. As far as PED cheat Yoka and Dubois… time will show they aren’t what they’re cracked up to be by some on here. Daniel taking that knee against Joyce told us a lot right there. I think Joyce vs Hrgovic would end up being a FOTY candidate
