Basically, which one is the least disputed e.g Ezzard Charles being widely considered the greatest light-heavyweight to lace the gloves, or Ray Robinson being the king of welterweight.

    Then vice versa.

So, we need to make a list of the GOAT in each division. Then pick which one was the least dominant?

Even more confusing - they ask for most/least dominant but then by way of explanation say they want most/least agreed upon or disputed ...which isn't really the same thing.

Jimmy Wilde seems to be the go to choice for Flyweight.

That might reflect lack of interest in the division.

I suppose middleweight, as you could reasonably argue for Greb, Robinson, Hagler or Monzon.

Light-Heavyweight and Lightweight have three reasonable contenders. I personally find them both to actually have a clear winner, but I wouldn't argue with somebody who had others. LHW: Charles, Moore and Greb; LW: Leonard, Duran and Gans.

I'd wager you could argue between two for three divisions; heavyweight, flyweight, and bantamweight. Those being Ali and Louis; Wilde and Canto, and Olivares and Jofre.

Leaving WW and FW with clear number ones, IMO: Robinson and Pep.

Picking a G.O.A.T per weight division is easy to do.
Most knowledgeable boxing fans will in general
have the same top 5 fighters per division, just not
    in the same order.
But the least dominate is a whole different can of
    worms.
Especially the last 20-30 years of boxing when their
are typically 5 different "World Titles" per weight division,
and the additional Jr. this or Super that titles theirs
many fighters that have been called "World Champ"
That probably shouldn't be called that.

Ali or Robinson (WW) for clearest GOAT.

Charles (LHW) probably the least, because he was never champ. So you've got a pretty valid reason for just excluding him outright that I wouldn't argue with.

I would say Ali. Most consider him the #1 at Heavyweight.

But, dominant is not a word that describes him well.

Dominant in the GOAT discussion. Should have specified.

Out of the classical eight divisions welterweight has the clearest goat with Robinson. Middleweight has the most disputed goat debate with 4 options.

I am with those confused by the tread.

Part of my problem is that people are saying to make a list of the GOATs in each division. How can the Greatest Of All Time be plural? The greatest has to be singular. Ali, when he called himself 'The Greatest' didn't perceive himself in some elite group, he saw himself as that elite group.

Greatest means greater than anyone else. That can only be one. Otherwise you would surely call the group Greats Of All Time which is what we have been using the term 'All Time Greats' for until recently, isn't it?

Right, particularly when the most dominant champion in boxing history was in the same division as Ali - Joe Louis.

You can name the greatest of all time lightweight boxer and so forth. Hence the question: which division has the least controversial and disputed best of all time boxer.

It's hard to argue there is a better welter than Ray Robinson, but middleweight for example isn't as clear.

Virtually everyone agree's on SRR and those who don't haven't got much to launch from so he for me is the most dominant.

Since "Dominant in the GOAT discussion" was labelled as the thread criteria i'm going to agree with Middleweight being least dominant due to four reasonably common picks.

Least dominant ? A brilliant and slightly perverse question. Emile Griffith at Welter and Middle maybe ? Harold Johnson at Light Heavy.
This is going to cost me some sleep. Nice one.
