The only one I'd outright ***y Sergio. There are a couple I'm 50-50 too like Murray and Geale.

probably 5 of them. Geale,Murray,Martinez and Quillien are close fights. he'll beat anybody else on that list. I know Cotto is not a middle weight but thats another one that would be tough for him to win

I got him for Quillin, Sturm, Soliman, Lee, Hassan, takes Geale to deep waters, 60/40 for that one going to Stevens I reckon.

lets not overrate Stevens. You can't even name what his best win is

Probably none of them. Also add some not even on that list, like Pirog and Jacobs even Rosado.

So? We can debate. Most people probably can't name Gary Russell Jr best victory but think he'd beat most of the top 10 guys in his division. Lomachenko has 1 fight and people are saying he's going to beat everyone at Featherweight.

I think Murray stylistically is at a serious disadvantage to Stevens. Offensively he is not going to match GGG, and his style of defense - I think Stevens puts too many shots around his guard.

I think I might favor Geale to beat him though. Geale seems like he would make it harder for Stevens to catch his chin IMO, and may well outpoint Stevens as long as his power is sufficient to deter Stevens from swarming him.

Macklin and Quillin I think are very good matchups.

If Martinez still has his reflexes and footwork, if he is healthy I think his overall talent level and ring IQ is a level above Stevens. I think his footwork , ring generalship and hard punches at odd angles make Stevens think too much and break down late. Provided he is still physically and mentally fit - I think a prime level Sergio is still too much for Stevens at this point in time.

Its a lot more fun and interesting to examine actual fight performance, and postulate and discus based on that - and hopefully the fights get made and you get to find out how your predictions play out - than it is to boxrec warrior and compare records on paper.

Stevens is not a bad fighter because he got stopped by Gennady Gary Golovkin. It's just that Gennady Gerry Golovkin's a special fighter.

yeah they always overrate big punchers
yeah true, but he's no prospect. He's been beat 4 times. Twice by stoppage
I like Stevens and was root for him most of the time, but he's not THAT good. He really hasn't beaten anybody of note.

He's short as **** with a low workrate. He's stopped 4 of his last 5 opponents in 1 round, but who were those guys? Wouldn't Peter Quillin do the same thing?

His losses other than GGG were a while ago at diff weight - I honestly think he is looking better these days. Its also pretty common for MW fighters not to hit prime until 30's.

His only high profile fight at MW was GGG.. and I dont think losing to GGG automatically disqualifies someone as a legit contender. It was a fun fight to watch, and I think he has a good shot at the other MW contenders. With the exception of Sergio (who if healthy I peg to beat Stevens handily) its not like the other fighters named are exactly ATG level either.

I agree about him looking better at 160. I wish him look and would like for him to be a top contender, but I'm gonna crown him for what he's done so far.
