I’ll throw this out there and i’m happy to be proven wrong, but can anyone tell me a fighter on Eubank’s CV before or after BJS who you would say possesses quality footwork or is elusive (not willing to trade/counter puncher) in any way?

"fringe world"/"british level" is hardly much of a distinction.

Yes, I think Eubank Jr. can beat Rocky Fielding and he has beat one old former world level opponent, but that's not really above "British level" for me.

Eubank Jr.'s next opponent Yildrim isn't world class either.

Eubank Jr. will move up a level when .. IF .. he beats someone like Groves, or even if he gives him a tough fight.

Tyan Booth is a good mover with the ingle style and admittedly Eubank had nightmares with him but that was only his 10th fight and everyone Booth fights finds it difficult cause he's so awkward.

Name me all the fighters at 160 you can think of with this style? There are next to none and the ones that are aren't good like Langford and Monroe, Jr would get no credit pummelling them.

Jr has only been in 168 division for 5 mins but there are plenty of movers there.

    GGG hasn't fought any either, add the fact that BJS is s southpaw and the fight is ugly. BJS would give anyone a hard fight but Jr started getting to him and figured him out, rematch would just look like round 13;

I had Jr beating billy 115-114, but can't complain about the scoring because it was so tight. Jr deseved to lose mucking around in the 1st couple.

Of the ones you've mentioned, Okolie will most likely be the first to fail imo. As soon as he steps up to around British level he will get found out I reckon. Anyone decently tough with a decent punch would be trouble for him. Despite his height and range he has absolutely no jab, has no defence, leaves his chin wide open, can't fight on the inside, should fight on the outside but doesn't, and based on his amateur career has a chin of glass as well.

If he is to go anywhere in boxing he needs to develop a jab and improve his defence by a considerable amount.

I watched the fight again, the commentary was so biased towards BJS. They were even claiming that Eubank's eye was closing up, but at the end of the fight you could clearly see there wasn't a mark on him. If my memory serves me correct the whole card was weird, every guy with the busted up face won the fight on the judges scorecard. It was just plain peculiar to see the guys who look like they have been beaten senseless have their arms held up aloft as the winners.

But Eubank loses on a close split decision, he'll just have to live with that.

Can't believe people think Yildrim is going to trouble CEJ though, it is gonna be a repeat of the Abraham fight, he walks forward yes, but he is just gonna eat leather all night, he's not quick enough, doesn't throw enough shots, doesn't have the skill, the footwork, and doubt he has the power. You'd need some kinda pathological hatred of Eubank Jr to make you blind enough to think this guy has a chance.

Eubank will win WBSS so long as there's no foolishness and he doesn't pull out.

Dubois matchmaking will either make or break him. If it says 10 fights times he's fighting guys with a bit of a pulse who might be able to handle a dig and fight back we might see him progress. The worry for me is he is so young and hes smashing poor quality fighters is that he develop loads of bad habits. Even the real power punchers find some who can take their best shots and it's then you need more than a dig to come out with a W.

Benns Style could be interesting to see evolve. His first few fights he started out throwing like his dad but now seems to have settled down a bit and he does have some speed. Gets hit a bit too much for my liking - i'll go fringe world.

Yarde looks like a classic bully at the moment has been tested but the last guy was able to wander around the ring and if wasn't for the obvious difference in size and power it would have been interesting to how Yarde would have gone about things. Didn't he just go right hand happy at one point sure he landed about 5 against the guy but try doing that at world level.

Yildirim is a much bigger fighter in stature than Abraham, who is sadly shot to pieces albeit is still durable. They have similar styles but Yildirim is younger, freshier and hungrier than Abraham.

Does Eubank have the power to make Yildirim think twice before coming forward, can Eubank TKO/KO him? Personally, the answer is no for me, so it’s 12 round fight with one guy marching forward constantly applying pressure. We’ve seen recently that you don’t always need to land shots to score points with the judges with that formula.

Eubank is rightfully favourite, but I don’t think you can write the other kid off, it’ll be a good fight.

That'd true, but I'd be amazed if Eubank tried to fight the same kind of fight as Hughie Fury.

It's simply not in young Christopher's DNA to box like that. Even his biggest haters cannot deny that Eubank is a fearless brawler who enjoys brawling in the ring.

Eubank fears nobody in the ring. He never ducked GGG, it was his father who sabotaged that fight.

Eubank Jr is easily one of the hardest, most stone cold boxers to come out of the UK, a true bonafide warrior.

Doesn't have the tools I'm afraid, throwing lots of punches against the Quinlan's of the world is all well and good but let me know how that goes when he has the Groves jab in his face. The guy is no Calzaghe.

I think the fight between Groves and Eubank would look a lot like Groves vs Froch 1, except that Jr doesn't have Froch's power to keep George honest.

He definitely loves a brawl, he’s a tough kid nobody can deny that.

I think he’s always going to struggle against skilful boxers though mate. I fancy him against Yildirim (even though it’s in Germany) but I think it will be tough. I’d like him to get past him so I can look forward to the build up (and all the trash talk) to a massive domestic clash with Groves. It wouldn’t surprise me if he goes through a war with Yildirim first though.

If Eubank had a bit more power behind his shots then I would tip him to go all the way in this tournament, I still think he has a great chance, he is nowhere near as rubbish as people make out. And I'd say he is more entertaining to watch than his dad, just that outside the ring he doesn't have anywhere near as much natural charisma.
