I hope Povetkin will find the ways to neutrulize it. If not, he still will not defer to rabbit punching - he is a dignetary sportsman.

Don't worry the scum that you mentioned even made sure Peter got a title without a fight.

    He did get kocked out.

Are you serious? And how is Peter better than Povetkin in 2007? Which department? Prior to McCline fight one may have argued he had the better chin. Well, this argument went out the door. Skills? Speed? Power? Stamina?

I agree about the 2nd part though. Most likely Byrd would have finished the fight on his feet but with his face torn apart if his father did not throw in the towel.

The clinching was going on long before the first rabbit punch. Robert Byrd would have been all over Waldo for that crap. Fact.

    This is stupid.

Yes he was awarded the interim championship. Do you have the slightest idea why? First off the leading other contender, McCall was pricing himself out of the fight. Secondly, Virchis made no public statement regarding his ability to step in. Whether or not that was an issue of having a passport/VISA or whatever is not known but fact of the matter is, the short notice was likely unacceptable for him. Who else besides McCall and McCline were in on short notice?

So under no circumstances did Peter get a title without having to work for it. What difference does it make if he got the reward a couple days before his first title fight. He STILL defended that same title days after recieving it.

I could understand if he recieved the title and then didn't fight McCline, thus opening up some vacation time and contractual opportunities to defend against a lucrative opponent. He did neither. He had been in need of a fight, activity and money so they took a dangerous fight like McCline on a very short notice. You make it out as though he got his cake and ate it too. Nonsense.

What is stupid that don king and duva are scum? Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot you were looking up to those two.

I am not blaming Peter for accepting the interim title. After all, he justed wanted to fight. But some how, the extremely fast decision by wbc (world biggest crooks) to award the title to Peter without fighting anybody from their Top 10 for that useless strap is not sitting well in my stomac. Again, Peter has nothing to do with it, he is just a fighter, one, however, that is managed by the lowest scum on this earth.

Peter is more proven at this point, but Povetkin is IMO by far the more talented and the better prospect. Let Povetkin get more fights and he“ll surpass Peter for sure.

And yet you continuously forget the time frame Oldlegs Maskaev left Sam Peter and his team. He wanted this date sunk under no uncertain terms.

You tell me. You have 10 possibilities, and on a week or week 1/2 notice. Who the hell is going to accept that? Only McCall and McCline came forward and McCline btw had been in training for Vitlay when Vitlay pulled his latest "oops my back" so he was in very good shape and ready.

McCall had been training for Gomez. So again, he was in good shape and ready. Only he priced himself out.

I saw no outcry from the rest of the top 10 regarding an opportunity. None, zilch, zero. The #2 Virchis made absolutely no comment that I could find either. It only made sense that McCline, who had been dropped after a lengthy training camp, willing to make X amount of dollars, and in the same stable would be the easiest to sign to a contract.

From a promoter's standpoint it was the easiest decision to make.

My point was not that Byrd/Donald are light years ahead of McCline/Toney.

My point was that Povetkin dominated both fights, looked impressive and was never even close to losing.
Peter was this close getting knocked out by McCline and was lucky to get the decision over Toney the first time. I had Peter winning that fight, don't get me wrong, but considering Toney was by a huge margin the more popular fighter, i consider Peter to be lucky to have been given the verdict even if he deserved it.

Bottomline is that he struggled badly against similar opposition whereas Povetkin had two easy nights.

Peter has the better resume, since the endgame of both fighters, in this scenario, is facing off with Wladimir Klitschko and beating him.

Seriously, how the **** can you claim that Povetkin is more proven than Peter? Peter not only has more than twice the fights, he's been the full 12 with Wladimir, putting him in danger several times and nearly winning the fight. Regardless of the "quality" of Povetkin's resume, he hasn't set foot in any ring that contains Wladimir Klitschko.

Klitschko has knocked out every one of his last few opponents EXCEPT for Peter. At this point in the game, the primary goal of any fighter who faces Wlad is just to survive to the end of the fight. Peter has proven he can do this. IN ADDITION to proving he can go 12 with Wladimir, he's picked himself off the canvas THREE times (against no light puncher in McCline) to dominate a fight after being on the brink of defeat.

How do we know Povetkin is gonna get up if Klitschko puts him down? We don't. Now, we don't know for sure if Peter will do it either, but the fact that he has already gone 12 with Wlad AND showed serious heart in a fight speaks volumes about him.

Now, to "beat" Wlad, I think they both have equal chance....but all the talent in the world won't save Povetkin when he starts getting cracked with right hands.

Should I even mention the massive size difference between Povetkin and Klitschko?

Please, don't start with what would you do. We all know who don king, duva and wbc are, well, maybe except you.

I could totaly understand if one defended certain actions by your favorite fighter but defending shady actions by a piece of **** promoter or an abc organization that has no credability whatsoever is beyond me.

I agree, Peters resume is better. Toney and Mccline seem better than Bryd and Donald, well at least at this point in there careers.
