Please vote in poll Daniel Dubois Jared Anderson Jai Opetaia Fabio Wardley Justis Huni Bakhodir Jalolov Richard Torrez Jr Vladimir Sirenko Mourad Aliev Moses Itauma
Jalolov is the best talent, but Dubois and Anderson are the best-promoted. Top Rank will not provide Jalolov with the excellent promotion they've given to the pampered "Big Baby" Anderson, so like Hrgovic, Jalolov will decline from inactivity and lack of meaningful fights. Daniel Dubois has been wonderfully promoted by Queensberry, and Warren's referees will overlook his dirty tactics (headbutts and low blows). So I expect he will do well.
Jalolov is the most talented and physically gifted of them but there are a lot of questions left about his mentality. He got his ass handed to him over abd over again by Ivan Dychko in the amateurs and couldn't change that at all. IF he learns how to overcome adversity he might become very good champion, but that's a very big if
Jalolov has the most potential but since turning pro he's had more amateur fights than pro fights, which is in part why Top Rank probably haven't pushed him as much as Anderson and Makhmudov. Itauma has looked impressive but he's not fought anyone even remotely capable so he'd be a long shot given how untested he is. Dubois is still young, has a big promoter and will no doubt get at least one more title shot if not more, so he might be the safest best to somehow pick up a title if they splinter. If Martin can win a title then Dubois can, though again it's a long shot but he's closer than the others right now.
Dubois and Anderson get hit WAY too much to be elite fighters, so I voted Jalolov. Opetaia is the best overall fighter today. Warldley, Torres and Itauma all could be the best of the bunch, but I haven't seen enough yet.
True but he's shown he can take a punch now and under Warren will probably get at least another shot if not more. Opetaia is totally unproven at heavyweight so l can't pick him as the most obvious choice and he might be a little too fragile given how Briedis busted him up both times. Exciting fighter though, am becoming a fan.
A "dominant" force? None of em............. A world champion/title holder? Dubois, Anderson, Jalolov, I could also see Opetaia grabbing a belt. Torrez and Wardley in particular, I don't see them even getting close to it.
As usual, hype narratives dominate... Jalolov is more than 3 years older than Dubois, nowhere near as proven in the professional arena and showing little interest in trying to change that... On top of that, Olympians who step up later in their careers tend to struggle to make their mark as pros... Being a double Gold medallist might make things easier for Jalolov - but on the flip side if he's beaten at the Olympics he might be in a worse position to get good fights made quickly than he is now. Jalolov's been a strongly whispered about prospect for several years... I doubt most people could tell you that he's actually 30 in a month's time. Many on this list are in their late 20's already - they don't have much time to start stepping it up. Dubois has limitations, but he's stepped up young and learned from the previous generation already - he's the obvious answer here being both the most proven (at heavyweight) on this list, and actually one of the younger ones, too.
I still don't rate Dubois, he proved me wrong but Hrgovic quit when it got tough, Hrgovic was ahead. He's still as limited as ever, just wait 2-3 years he won't even be in contention because of his 3rd loss He will get exposed fighting Kabayel, Parker, Zhang, and the top 3. I would favor Bakole stylistically, and Ajagba if he had a good chin
