Pretty much. It's astounding how many people buy into the myth of Shavers being some ATG one punch knockout artist though. It's like, forget what people tell you about a fighter and just use your damn eyes and brain.

Well Cunningham also managed to knock down Fury and he was even lighter than Wilder at around 205lbs. Fury's chin has always been a bit suspect, and I don't consider his size commensurate with his ability to take a good shot.

I don't think it's laughable at all, certainly not when fighters like Shavers and Max Baer are staples of such discussions despite being demonstrably lighter hitters than him. I'm far from Wilder's biggest fan but his power is on that freakish level that you only really see once every couple of generations, and it doesn't just come from his ability to sell out on shots either. Both his knockdown of Ortiz and his KO of Helenius came from short countershots while he was moving back; his KO of Szpilka also came from a short shot that he wasn't able to put much weight into. Yes his opposition have largely been garbage and that has to be taken into account, but past a certain point it doesn't really matter when a fighter is consistently one shotting guys cold.

Tyson consistently dropped or stopped recognized top ten heavyweights in his prime. Wilder has beaten two fighters who were considered top ten when he fought them, Stiverne 1 (decison) and Ortiz.

Deontay Wilder is EASILY the most explosive HW of all time. Nobody can cover the distance he does so quickly when he shoots that right hand down the pipe. It's a true one touch of death.

and explosive power is far more deadly than thudding power

It's a shame Wilder has been so badly mismanaged.

I've tried to explain this before but mass equals force which equals speed which equals power. So, none of these fighters' statistics make any real sense. It's against science. But it's not against God, who is actually also against science. It all tracks.

The bum basher, Wilder. Can't deny he's got ridiculous power.

I find it shocking that Wilder is winning this poll after a career of can-crushing, with some obviously fixed fights.

One shot, lights out, knockout power..I have to go with Wilder. Tyson is close behind, he lands devastating, sickening combos. Wilder can miss all night, land one good punch and it's over. I know Tyson is proven against better opposition but there aren't many men who can take that one shot from Wilder. Though he couldn't knockout Charlie Z which is just baffling, maybe he held back.
