Do you not want to see him brutally KO'd soon or something? What's wrong with you?

    1. Stevenson
    2. Ward
    3. Beterbiev

In this order because Stevensen is the man who beat the man at LHW. It's also the fight that needs to be made sooner than later because of Adonis's age. He still seems to be in his prime because he started at a later age so now it is a good time to make the fight.

Ward is a candidate for p4p number 1 spot after Mayweather retires. Ward is still making his comeback and propably needs another tune up. He's also not a LHW officially yet. This fight can wait till 2016 - 2017.

Beterbiev is still relatively inexperienced in the pro ranks. He beat Kovalev in the amateurs but apparently at least one of those defeats was controversial, I've been told. This can wait till 2017 or so.

This but I think Ward needs to step up before 2017.

that would be a sham if he didnt. 2 more years of his career dwindled away in meaningless obscurity. whoever's paying his cheques should refuse to pay him anymore til he moves up and fights worthy opponents. he gets a bye for Smith as that was comeback after a long lay off, but he's had his bye and it's now time to step up

if he steps up and beats all 3 of these guys, on fair terms, would you say that makes him a lock as the #2 168-175 fighter of the past decade? :think

    Yes.

But I think it's far more likely we don't see Ward in the ring at all until 2017 that him stepping up.

I'll tell you what's gonna happen

Ward's gonna do what he can to get to 168. But he'll find it's no longer possible. He'll dwindle around avoiding 175 trying to get GGG to come up to 172. When GGG laughs in his face, he'll try and fight Smith calibre opponents at 172. His paydays shall be megre, but he'll be content in the knowledge he's cementing his legacy as the GOAT @ 172. After carving out his legacy there, he'll retire back to the commentary booth and constantly bring up how he beat Paul Smith in Oakland in front of 80 people :deal

He's got someway to go before his resume trumps that of Fonfara at 172. :nod
