    Roger Mayweather
    Freddie Roach
    Manny Steward
and many many more... depending on a certain fighters limitations and abilities. Mayweather was the perfect trainer for Sammy Peter, but again, unsuccessful. Freddie and Manny seem to know exactly what thier fighters need to do to handily earn a win. Can't say that for all the good trainers like Teddy, but at least he knows Potvetkins limitations, and is steering him in the right direction. It is a good possibilty that Potvetkin will be a WBA champ before the year is out.

Politics plays a role in managing fighters, and Teddy is one of the best at handling the politics of the sport.

Nacho Beristain. Takes fighters from kids and turns them into technically brilliant world champions and some even reach all-time greatness. Very few of those names up there can say the same. :deal

  5. i think certain trainers are good for certain fighters like steward is excellent for any tall fighters hearns, klitschko, lewis and roach is successful with fast fighters khan , pac and then the mayweathers are really only good for slick african americans which was pretty obvious after the hatton disaster and mcgirts good for fighters that need water baby and are taking too many shots gonna have to stop it baby

    I voted for Roach because i r *******.

But a good trainer is one that could take a fighter and make them better at what they already do best, and supplementing the holes in their game.

The likes of Floyd Sr. is already out when he tried to make "Slick Rick." :patsch
Emmanuel Steward may also be a bit pigeonholed when people noticed Cotto's game a bit different than before.

Roach is versatile. He never forgot Pac has a bomb of a left but nevertheless developed his all around game. He has coached a jabber like Khan. Counterpuncher like Toney. An NBA ATG like Shaq. So there's my legit reason. I also like Nacho Beristain.

Part of Manny Steward's greatness also derives from the fact that he's the only black trainer who resembles a white Wayne Newton.
