very negative view, have you seen them all? For example Taylor Bevan hasn't been on the main televised part I don't think yet, but he's looked brilliant so far. Visioli as as well looks class.
Yep, he's mandatory for the Puello vs Matias winner. I think they are winnable fights for him, especially if it's in Sheffield
It’s really hard to win a belt these days . I think the standard of champions overall is very high. It’s assumed that as there’s lots of belts, they are being given away but British world champs are as rare as entertaining fights on one of his excellency’s shows. It wasn’t that long ago that Britain had 15 or so world champions. How many we got now. Two ?
If you're not including the 6 female champs. Then yeah Britain only has 2 male champions (Dubois, Ball), which is lower than it usually is and a bit disappointing for our usual high standards and success in boxing. But you have to look at in perspective. Only 4 countries in the world have more than 2 current world champions - USA, Mexico, Japan and Russia. So UK are joint 5th currently for number of world champions. The entire continent of Africa only has 1 current world champion. And the entire continent of South America only has 1 current world champion. Most countries in the world would be jumping for joy over having just one world champion in boxing right now, because 94% of countries in the world don't have a single one.
Yeah, I don’t count women champs. The standard is abysmal and the depth of the divisions is pathetic. Unbelievably the BBC website asked if Lauren Price was the greatest Welsh boxer of all time. Anyway, thanks for the info. Incredible really. As you’ve stated, winning belts in the multi organisational boxing world isn’t easy and with undisputed champs, unified champs and inactive champs, it’s probably a good thing that there are 4 belts per weight otherwise no one would be getting a shot. People talk about the days of 1 champ and 8 divisions but fighters were way more active then. There would be 4 world title fights a year if it was like that in the modern era.
Of these, possibly Dalton Smith (although it is a bit laughable to call a 28 year old a prospect), and as Beale said Sam Hickey. Moses Itauma is probably the most likely prospect to pick up a strap but he wasn't listed in your poll.
Wardley has a knock out dig so I could see him have a punchers chance at a vacant belt once they all get split up
