    Top 10 Calzaghe wins

Ranked based on the fighters form, the manner Calzaghe won, and the aftermath of the fighter to see if the fighter was exposed or not. Which of these fights are world class Victories

    1) Mikkel Kessler by Unanimous Decision
    Recent form
    - Beat strong contenders, Andrade, and Mundine. KO win over former Champ Markus Beyer
    - Unbeaten
    The Fight
    - Good performance
    - Unification bout
    Aftermath
    - Beats up some Euro fighters, and then gets schooled by underdog, virtually unknown Andre Ward. People question was Kessler even all that? Or is Andre Ward all that?

    2) Beranrd Hopkins by Split Decision
    Recent form
    - Beat Antonio Tarver, Winky Wright
    - Lost to Jermain Taylor twice
    - 43 year old, and was written off before fighting Tarver
    The Fight
    - Controversial win hence SD
    - Calzaghe Knock-down by 43 year old
    Aftermath
    - BHop produces a dominant win over Kelly Pavlik, fans question was Calzaghe’s win really that clear? Or was this win even better than first anticipated?

    3) Jeff Lacy by Unanimous Decision
    Recent form
    - Best name on his resume at that point was Scott Pemberton, a gatekeeper/Journeyman/Bull**** fighter
    - Unbeaten, with high KO ratio
    The Fight
    - Dominant performance
    - Unification bout
    - Calzaghe was underdog, and surprised many
    Aftermath
    - Has a career best win over Peter Manfredo, loses to Jermain Taylor. Fans realize, Jeff Lacy was a pure Hype job, and Calzaghe gets little credit despite schooling Lacy.

    4) Roy Jones Jr by Unanimous Decision
    Recent form
    - Beat shot Trinidad, and some guy with Abdi in his name.
    - Lost to Tarver twice, and Johnson
    - 39 Year old, and was written off after Tarver loss
    The Fight
    - Calzaghe floored by shot RJJ
    - No one surprised at what happens to RJJ thereon
    - Calzaghe Nut huggers overjoyed by this lame win
    Aftermath
    - Beats up Jeff Lacy, and Sheika
    - Gets KO by unknown 36 year old Danny Green. To which Calzaghe nut huggers say Calzaghe destroyed RJJ

    5) Chris Eubank by Unanimous Decision
    Recent form
    - Lost to Steve Collins twice
    - Last win at Championship level was 3 years prior
    The Fight
    - Calzaghe wins clearly and dominates from start
    - Eubank didn’t look anywhere like he did against Nigel Benn
    Aftermath
    - Fights twice, loses twice at Cruiserweight to Carl Thompson. Calzaghe picks up a easy WBO title under Frank Warren

    6) Robin Reid by Split Decision
    Recent form
    - More or less in his prime
    - Former WBC Super Middleweight
    - Loss to Thulani Malinga
    The Fight
    - Really close, hence SD
    - Some say Calzaghe lost this fight
    Aftermath
    - Nothing much

    7) Sakio Bika by Unanimous Decision
    Recent Form
    - No big wins, was good at head butting that’s all
    The Fight
    - Good performance, until end rounds where Bika gets his special head butt.
    Aftermath reflection of fight
-Loses to Bute, and has his best career win over Peter Manfredo

8: Richie Woodhall by Technical Knock-out
    Recent form
    - Former WBC Super Middleweight Champ
    - Career Middleweight
    - Lost to Beyer
    The Fight
    - Havent seen it
    Aftermath
    - Retired

    9) Byron Mitchell by Technical Knock-out
    Recent Form
    - Former WBA Super Middleweight Champ
    - Lost to Ottke by SD
    The Fight
    - Gets floored, comes back in same round to win
    Aftermath
    - aint anything big

    10) Charles Brewer by Unanimous Decision
    Recent form
    - top 10 P4P SMW
    - Lost SD twice to Ottke
    The Fight
    - Didn’t see it
    Aftermath
    - nothing

    Conclusion

Calzaghe dont have a win on his resume that can be considered world class. Example of a world class win, is Duran beating Leonard 1.

His win against Lacey was world class. the guy stopped robin reid an was a huge favourite. Calzaghe took the fght when everyone expected him to lose, but he dominated!

plus he made hopkins look old! and only taylor has done that so far?

    Its a legitimate question

if Calzaghe is to be ranked as an ATG
tell me one of his victories, that can be compared to Duran beating Iran Barkley

    good post

    i would say Lacy

Lacy was an HBO and Showtime guy, huge pop, a current undefeated world champ in his prime and alot of people favored lacy...i am no sure but seems like overall Lacy was favored by Vegas. and he beat his ass , and ruined him.

I have always said that his best win is Hopkins, regardless of the guys age.
It was a horrible match up for Joe and he did very well in his first fight at LHW and his first fight in the US.

The way he handled Lacey was sublime, it is easy to say that Lacey was over hyped, but look at the bookies odds that night.
    Joe put on a clinic.

I will be interested to see how Kessler does up on his return to the ring.
Calzaghe handled him pretty well in my opinion.

Robin Reid was a great fighter, most people thought that he beat Ottke.

The Chris Eubank fight was a great fight for a very green Calzaghe.

An objective analysis of Joe's career, will always expose the fact that he constantly fed on opponents who were nowhere near elite.

The Roy Jones bout was a complete joke, and no one but Calzaghe fans take notice of it. The B-Hop fight, Joe was frustrated all night, and was shocked more than anyone that he managed to get that decision.

Which leave Kessler and Lacy as his career defining victories. lol Kessler and Lacy. Wow.
