The simple answer to a stupid question is that they were all world class wins, even the Bika one because he's world standard, like all the rest.:patsch

No matter how much I dislike him 4 beating Jeff Lacy, RJJ nd BHOP...he can fight! Joe C. iz da TOTAL PACKAGE. Skills, speed, defense, heart, stamina with good power nd a freakish workrate. I seen his power win him fights. N da elite level his smarts nd stamia got him da nods, albeit close nods

smh...and lemme correct u there..Trinidad is MUCH greater then Joe Calzaghe,Tito was a TRUE legend..theres NO comparison

The only thing Tito and Joe have in common,is they both lost their 0 to Hopkins,But thats about it

How was Calzaghe's win over Hopkins controversial, or should I not even go there?

You can start by taking hopkins off the list. Hopkins won that fight.

Age doesn't matter iof they are performing at the top level. Boxers are old only when they are looking old or shot.

How many wins over world class opponents does Hopkins have? I don't hear anyone saying he's not an all time great...

Fact is, most great fighters DON'T have a win against ATG opposition. There's always something. Maybe they beat a guy when he was past his prime, maybe they fought guys who came up in weight, or maybe they fought guys who almost died trying to make weight, etc.

Kessler was a world class win. Not a win against an ATG, but world class. Mario Veit, Robin Reid, Omar Sheika, and Sakio Bika were world class. If he had beaten Jones or Hopkins a few years earlier, that would have qualified as a career-defining fight against an ATG. But it didn't happen. Oh well. I think it's safe to assume that while his resume doesn't exactly read like Ali's, he also had next to no options in the area of ATG opponents. He's one of the top 20-50 p4p fighters of all time, regardless of who he fought.

    P.S.

Here's what your boy Hopkins has done. And don't get me wrong, I think Hopkins is an ATG and also in the top 20-50 p4p fighters of all time. This is just to expose the fact that rarely do fans apply the same criteria to the fighters they like and the fighters they dislike.

Dealt Glen Johson his 1st loss
Gave Felix Trinidad (a blown-up welterweight) his 1st loss
Beat De la Hoya (a blown-up, past his prime lightweight)
Beat Antonio Tarver, essentially an old man.
Beat Winky Wright (a blown up, past his prime jr. middleweight)
Beat Kelly Pavlik, who came up 10 pounds

    Lost pro debut-Clinton Mitchell
    Lost 1st title shot-Roy Jones
    Lost to Jermain Taylor
    Lost rematch with Jermain Taylor
    Lost to Joe Calzaghe

If that resume is the resume of an ATG, then so is Calzaghe's. i really can't see how it could be otherwise.
