Although I agree with TS about the world class wins, or lack thereof, I don't think it was entirely JC's fault. Early in his career it seems as if he couldnt get those type of fighters to fight him, and by the time he did make a name for himself and his cult following promised a decent payday, he was older and looking to protect his status and legacy, so he was in no rush to fight those guys. All in all, the guy's resume will always be incomplete(unless there's a comeback), and even though I've done some of it myself, the hate on this guy is entirely disproportionate with his achievements. But..... so is the worship.

    Please

Felix Trinidad is the most overated fighter of his generation
What was his best win? Vargas or a 35 Year old Sweet Pea?

Everyman and his dog knows that he lost to ODLH.
As well as losing to Hopkins, Winky and an allegedly shot RJJ (Who Calzaghe handily beat in his next fight).

Felix Trinidad deserves props for fighting the best, it's just a shame that he lost to them all.

Why bother to type all that drivel when you could simply have posted "I hate Joe Calzaghe!" Joe Calzaghe 46-0 over 15 years = LEGEND Accept his greatness, the bitterness and jealously will eat you up.

absolute legend of the sport, defeated everyone put in front of him including the best from america and europe. lots of haters because he was that damn good and they cant handle it.

just be glad he has retired or he would have given everyone in the super 6 a good ass whooping!

and a lot of people thought he also beat calzaghe. but i digress, calzaghe legacy is in his longevity. he has no singular ATG victory but then when you look at someone like carlos monzon, neither did he. Nor did a lot of great fighters. any resume can be picked apart, i've done it to calzaghe myself quite a bit and i've come to the conclusion that he was a great talent that came along at the right and wrong time. right cause he got to dominate a relatively weak division, wrong because many of the marquee names on which to build a legacy were not available to fight him for many reasons. sometimes their fault, sometimes his fault, sometimes no one's fault. he was a great fighter whose resume has to be looked at in terms of length of reign and obvious talents not just singular wins

Felix Trinidad always fought the best,so of course there was a chance he would lose unlike Calzaghe who doesnt fight the best and theres no shame in losing to the BEST..

"alledgedly"??!.....are trying to say that Roy WAS in his prime when Calzaghe beat him? :-(

What was Joe best win?? A controversial Split-Dec win against a past prime 43 year old B-hop that many felt beat Joe?

A win against the undefeated Mikkel Kessler who was recently easily beaten up & exposed by Andre Ward a guy with just 20 fights??

"Trinidad" the most overrated fighter of this generation?!? NO That title right there belongs to Joe Calzaghe

Joe is the most decorated SMW all time hands down. But he is not to be considered one of the best ever. I was a fan of his and I thought he was a very good fighter but yes he could have done more. Though I dont criticize him because he beat who they put in front of him. People excuse Hopkins and Jones losses to joe because they were old but Joe was there the entire time they could have fought him at any time they just never thought much of him. When time did come they lost. Jones also had not lost in 3 years and and was only 3 years older than Calzaghe. As for the Hopkins fight it was real close but Joe did enough in my book though it was not clear or pretty. I give the man credit where credit is due. People rank him too high and too low. I say he had a 10 year reign as WBO 168 champ unified several times 20 plus defenses won all fights ring 175 champ. I take him for what he was a great champ and a fun guy to watch

    Kessler was his best win.

While BHop has gotten some good fight in the last 3-4 years he is no where near his peak. And if that is the best JC can do against an OLD BHop then that is not saying much. That is like celebrating Tommy Morrison's win over Foreman in 1993. Yea

RJJ - why even go there. Dude is more decrepid than a crypt keeper (though my favorite boxer of his generation).

Lacy - good win but in the scheme of things it does not have a lasting impact because lacy is not a great one.

JC is Euro trash. He is only legend is hsi fanboi's minds. You have to be desperate if your legacy hinges over beating a 43 year.

Sad really. He could have easily proven it but chose to 'retire'.

Do you even know what 'world class' means? 'World class' does not mean a win is an 'ATG' win over a great fighter. Isn't it really self-explanatory or are you really that stupid?

Nearly all of those fighters were world champions so I'm thinking they might have been world class.

It's so funny how everyone thought that Lacy was going to dominate Calzaghe ... I was on showtime boards back then and I was one of the only guys pick Calzaghe by shutout.
