Easy poll. No debate about it being Calzaghe.

Sure he was good, in fact he was great. He just never fought anyone else who was also. (In their prime or at least being close to it that is.)

Yep, it's a stupid question and people are not answering it honestly. I agree.

    Has to be Calzaghe.

But if the question is the worst caliber of beaten opposition, Hopkins and Wright are close to Calzaghe.

Yes I do. I've been following Mosley's career for quite a while now. How do you figure he was too small for 154? Because he didn't beat Winky??? Yet you have him beating DLH at 154.... You need to get your story straight. He has more wins at 154 than losses.

He had very close fights against a extremely shot Vargas and a shot Mayorga as well. He lost to who you call "An Inferior Fighter" in Forrest twice, and Winky pretty much toyed with him.

So tell me again, how is Mosley a better or equal win for Cotto to Calzaghe's win over Hopkins, both Contreversial, key difference is and the point that really matters in this thread is that Hopkins is a better fighter than Mosley when JC and MC fought them.

There is no way you can claim that Mosley is an equal or better win than beating Hopkins.

One was a close SD win, and the other was a clear gift, with Mosley being juiced up. Hopkins KO Oscar.

This is pure fan bias. The fact that you were impressed with Cotto's flashy style in the Mosley fight over Calzaghe's ugly technic against Hopkins further shows why you are wrong. You see, both fights were contreversial, one was a flshy fight with two flashy fighters, the other was an ugly battle, with two unpleasant styles. But at the end of the fights, they were both Contreversial.

And just because you were impressed with Cotto's flashiness, that is NOT the point of the thread. It's who has faced worst opposition, and the fact that we BOTh have established that Hopkins is a greater fighter than Mosley, should end this discussion.

I'm not going to dissect the rest of your post, because it's meaningless, I can prove to you why Tarver was inferior to Lacey, but it doesn't really matter, because either way you look at it, it proves my point that Calzaghe fighting Hopkins is more impressive than Cotto fighting Mosley.

You bring up a bunch of B and C level fighters on Cotto's resume to prove he's fought better opposition, but truth is, that they are only known because of who they lost too, and because the WW division is more popular than the MW and SMW division. It's more popular because more American top fighters fight there.

If you count the fights that really matter, Calzaghe has fought better opposition than Cotto.

Obviously Cotto has a better chance at changing that with JC retired and Cotto still fighting. But as of now, JC has fought the better opposition.
