    In boxing anything is possible.

If you have to choose between this lot who has the best chance of beating Roberto Duran.

Id vote Forrest...has the physical advantages and skill that could give Roberto a lot of trouble.

I wouldnt bet on it though...the others either dont have the defensive ability or durability to frustrate Roberto at his best at his weight.
Starling of course has both but Mooch probably wouldnt be able to deal with Duran's intensity.

Id probably have him the guy who has the best chance outside of Forrest..they would be pretty close actually.
A fight between Forrest and Starling would have been very interesting.

I realize Duran is a tall order for anyone at Welter but I picked those guys on purpose to make you think about it. I'd personally favor him against the entire lot but there is an off chance that one of them can pull of the upset. Question is which one is it?

I'd have to agree. I was looking at Taylor though and thinking he has the ability to get plenty of shots off and to maintain room for the shots, but i think Duran would break him and as the fight progresses, Durans craft and right hand would make the difference.

But Forrest, well i thought he was class when he was around anyway. He can shorten up the shots before going back to pumping the jab. He's still not the best fighter though and Duran would have a chance also, even against someone like Forrest his defence would be potent, constantly rolling the shoulder and closing distance, where you don't want to be.

But yeah, he'd be my choice. Honeyghan would be able to get shots off but he'd be taking more imo.

I think Forrest or Williams. Forrest is quite similar to Hearns, but obviously had problems when he brawled with a puncher in Mayorga, but he did arguably edge Mayorga in the rematch and twice bested Mosley

Then theres Williams whos a freak of nature, with massive size advantages, a good chin, high workrate, great athlete etc. Sometimes he can be picked apart but hes a challenge for most WWs

I'd probably favour WW Duran over these 2, but not by that much, it depends who has a good night

Then theres Honeyghan, intelligent/athletic pressure, looked amazing against Curry, that would be interesting and I wouldnt write him off

I too picked Forrest but gave some thought to Williams. At the end of the day though, I think Forrest proved himself more, especially with his wins over Mosely and that to me was the deciding factor.

I don't think Breland has a prayer of winning this fight and barring a punchers chance neither does Mayorga.

I wouldn't pick Williams personally, he has all the physical advantages but to me his largest weakness is that his punches can be very sloppy, he's strange but in a good way in that he is basically a rangey swarmer with good head movement. But Duran's inside ability and defense in that realm, along with his innate ability to manipulate leverage to his won advantage just means that i'd be picking him to outscore his man in the pocket allday.

But the size alone definitely means it's food for thought.

Assuming it's Duran at his welterweight best, i'd say starling. He's the only one not utterly outclassed on the inside, or defensively.

Williams, Forrest and Breland might have the best chance against an off-form Duran, but none have strong defensive skills, Breland has a glass chin, Forrest a nervous wreck against Mayorga and a poor mover...how the hell would he contain Duran?.And Williams just a sloppy disjointed mess of a fighter technically, far too easy to hit.

Honeyghan and taylor would be the most entertaining and might have some awesome exchanges for a few rounds, but both would end up getting dismantled.

Moyorga would look like a complete amateur against Duran. He wouldn't even know what to do he be so outclassed.
