Not sure if all of these guys would be considered "legendary" but I think he'd definitely KO Morrison and probably use his athleticism to UD Mercer and Tua. Everyone else embarrasses him...including Tokyo Douglas.

He would probably take Ali out early. He and Foreman would engage in a tactical war, trading rapier jabs for twelve rounds, the fight ending in a draw. Haye would be disqualified against Tyson for making "woman gestures".

The greats all whip him. Not up for debate. Haye versus Tyson and Foreman? I'm not even dignifying that **** with an analysis.

Byrd, terribly underrated and probably delighted to be fighting someone who isn't a foot taller and 30 pounds heavier than him for once, also outboxes him. An on-his-game Bowe runs him over. And Ike Ibeabuchi was way too much of a physical monster for Haye to handle.

But Tua wasn't hard to box. Douglas sucked for his entire career except for one very important night. Mercer was as tough as they come but never terribly quick or sophisticated. Morrison was never far from disaster. There are wins for Haye on this list to be sure, and I hate David Haye.

But if you read old issues of boxing magazines that were printed during the reign of those legendary heavyweight champions, the heavyweight division was at its all time worst.
I think Haye's speed and punching power give him a realistic chance to beat anybody on the list. I wouldn't go so far as to make him a betting favorite vs everyone of them but I think he has the athletic talent to surprise quite a few people.

If he could hit hard enough to back Tyson up he could beat him. Most of Tyson's opponents were utter garbage.

If he could get his right cross over Lennox Lewis' jab he could KO him. Most of Lewis' opponents were utter garbage.

I can't think of one of Sonny Liston's opponents who is comparable to Haye. Most of Liston's opponents were utter garbage.

I think Haye could beat; Patterson, Johansen, Marciano, Joe Louis, Max Baer, Jack Dempsey, Gene Tunney.

Buster Douglas wasn't consistent enough to make me think he would probably win.

Tua, Haye could possibly beat him on speed and range.

Ibeabuci, I have a feeling that II is overrated due to his Chris Byrd KO victory and his points win over Tua. Byrd didn't have enough punching power to keep II from walking him down but Haye does have the punching power to make II cautious. Ibeabuci's points win over Tua, come on who is Tua going to beat on points?

Morrison, real possibility of beating him, Morrison was inconsistent and inattentiveness got him KOed more than once.

Larry Holmes fought a lot of garbage opponents and he usually didn't have to fight at the same kind of workrate Haye would make him fight at. If Holmes had fought Haye instead of Spinks, LH would have a KO loss to Haye.

Haye's athletic talent is there but I see his big weakness as being intimidated so he probably turns into a rabbit vs the big punchers on the list and survives to lose on points.

Anyone who thinks that Haye beats any of these guys is on the Haye hype train.

    Hayes heavyweight reign of terror.

    Bonin
    Barrett
    Valuev
    Ruiz
    Harrison.

Find some old boxing magazines and you'll read that at the time the legends were fighting their opponents were considered just as bad as Bonin, Barrett, Valuev, Ruiz and Harrison. At the time the heavyweight division was at its all-time worst...for the past 84 years.

    This is a joke right?

Haye beats Louis?, Patterson? Could KO Lennox? Back Tyson up? Larry would get knocked out?

Please man , im too old to get into this but people today and their understanding of the sport is so far off what it used to be.

Haye was only a paper champion in a fight where he throw less than 200 punches through 12 rounds , and many thought he lost against the worst belt holder of all time.

With Haye being the head to head monster that he is I think we can all safely assume that after those 15 fights Haye's record would look like 15(15)-0-0.

Haye could have stopped Douglas (who only ever had one great fight and looked decidedly average for the rest of his career) and Morrison.

Against Byrd, Haye would have a chance. Would be a very tactical battle but i see Haye going into it in aggressive mode which could possibly see Byrd take something big flush. Byrd was a very good defensive fighter but Haye has very good handspeed and accuracy.

Foreman wouldn't have been able to outbox Haye and would have had trouble tagging him with those big wide hooks so Haye could look to run and counter and possibly win a decision but for me Foreman's brute strength and power would leave Haye a crumpled mess.

I think Haye would have a chance against Liston too which i'm sure i'll get **** for

i don't like haye, but lets be realistic, an incredible fast fighter with one punch power and great defense would have no chance against some of the losers there???:rofl

the guys in red get koed by haye, the guys in green have a 50/50 fight

David Haye is going to Ko Frazier, Liston, Ibeabuchi, Holyfield?

I bet even David himself is laughing at that one.

The only guy Haye has a chance against is Morrison IMO, but Morrison could punch, so there is a chance Haye could be going to sleep himself.

Mercer would make it a war, he gave Holy/Lewis tough fights. He has a granite chin and Davids stamina is questionable, he was gassing during the chisora fight. this fight could play out like Mercer-Morrison.

Tua-Haye is interesting, because we know Tua can catch anyone at anytime and hes got a granite chin and Tua can fight the full 12.

Ibeabuchi, sorry hes too relentess, too big and too strong to be deterred by Haye. This is a guy who stood toe to toe with David Tua and didnt budge.

Holmes/Liston would take Dave to school, similar to Wlad, but unlikley Wlad, they would fight much more aggresively and end it within the distance. There is a chance that haye could catch larry with a right hand, something we know Larry is vulnerable too, but whether he can finish him is another thing.

Tyson and Foreman KO Haye very early. Haye brings nothign to the table to beat either of these guys. Guys who beat Tyson normally towered over him and had to literally beat him to the ground, Haye throwing 1-2 punches a round isnt going to do the trick. Foreman walks through Haye, Foreman walked through fraziers left hooks without flinching, i dont think Haye would bother him too much

Haye knocking out Holyfield is a joke, im not going to even comment on that. Daves small punch output and questionable stamina would cost him here as Holyfield will come to bring it and for once Holyfield would be fighting a guy smaller than him.

Ali toys with Haye. Davids speed may cause a few problems for Ali, but its not like Haye punches in bunches (ala prime Tyson) Haye does the same old simple 1-2, it wont take Ali long to figure him out.

LL, depends on what mind frame hes in, he could make this a quick blowout or take Haye to school. There is a chance Haye could catch an overconfident LL out with a right hand which we know can happen.

Douglas, is a wildcard. But people need to remember, even before beating Tyson, Douglas had put together a fine set of wins over Berbick, Mcall etc. He also had the dodgy loss to Tucker. So he isnt quite the bum people make him out to be. He can box, when he can be bothered to. Or he can be a lazy twat (like when he fought Holyfield)

Hayes best chance might be against Joe Frazier, now i think there is a big question mark over Fraziers chin due to the Foreman losses, but David Haye is not George Foreman, neither by build or style. The closes thing david fought to frazier was Chisora (who to be honest, wasnt really that good) Frazier might be a slow started but once he gets warmed up, i think hayes in trouble, that plus Hayes dodgy stamina.
